As a woman who has struggled with chronic health issues over the past 25 years or so, I found myself focusing most of my energy on getting through the work day, while other areas in my life were being neglected. I routinely found myself too exhausted for even simple pleasures like a walk in the park with my dog or staying awake for an evening movie with my kids. Ironically, even having early nights to bed never resulted in feeling rested and refreshed in the morning.

In August 2016, I began adding one scoop of Vital Reds to my daily protein shake, and the results have been impressive. Within the first week, I noticed I was sleeping more soundly at night, and waking up feeling more rested than I had in years. Having more energy throughout the day has allowed me to enjoy evening walks 3 or 4 times during the work week, and I'm even able to stay up with my kids and watch a movie on weekends!
Although I have quite a ways to go in order to achieve my health goals, my progress over the past 2 months has been steady. My weight on August 1, 2016 was 296lbs. Exactly two months later, on October 1, 2016, my weight is 269lbs. My blood pressure has been in the range of normal since late August, and has recently been dipping into the optimal range of below 120/80. My family doctor has noted the improvements, and we are discussing a plan to decrease the dosages of my blood pressure medications (2 different medications) gradually over the next weeks. My hope is to be off one (if not both) of these medications before the end of the year.
