I have been using the BetterHelp app now for a few months. I'd always preferred face-to-face counseling, but in this new COVID world and with ever-increasing prices, I decided to give it a go.
At first, it seemed like a lot of money to be parting with, as previously I was spending about £50 per session, but only having 1 or 2 sessions a month. I now pay quarterly, and I have a session a week and they work out to be about £35. This is a lot cheaper, but I'm also having many regular sessions and there are other features too. Such as group sessions, a messaging service direct to your therapist, a journaling service, etc.
The app and desktop site have both worked really well for me. I wasn't sure what the video chat was going to be like, being on the BetterHelp platform, but I've never had any issues.
So far, I've not had any issues and I am very happy with the service.
Pros and Cons:
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
