While I support the idea of therapy, I never found the right fit prior to BetterHelp. On this platform, I was easily paired with the most effective therapist I've ever had on this service. And even the intake process begins your therapy, you can articulate what you're going through and what you're looking for. That process helped me AND my therapist wasn't cold...she had already gotten a sense of my issues and my communication style prior to our first session.
Remote sessions are a huge improvement over having to travel and feel comfortable in someone else's office. My therapist and I jump right in at the top of the session and don't waste time. I love the model of combinations of writing and talking (and I can determine the balance of how much writing I want to do). Great flexibility and ease in rescheduling.
There are practical and helpful tools on the website...some I use, some I do not. You also have access to interactive lectures with an array of therapists on special topics that are included in membership...you can attend as many or as little as you want (some are great, some are annoying, but you can just log off).
There are three ways to have a weekly session on the platform (video, phone, or chat) and I've used them all. Great to know that if technical arise with video, you can just switch to talking on the phone or chatting. Do it, y'all.
Pros and Cons:
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
