Money is tight so I wouldn't have tried if not for the one-month offer they did back when they received a multi-million donation. I used to be severely traumatized (childhood, mental and physical abuse, rape), had constant flashbacks, and was that person who cried at a party after drinking a little. I didn't expect much, I was mostly excited about getting any therapy, even for a month, because where I live, private is twice as expensive as BetterHelp, and I was already queued for 2 years for a free spot with my public insurance.
They matched me with a clinical psychologist, and something clicked. This doctor has pretty much fixed everything that was rotting in my brain. Just a few months later I am a completely different person, nothing haunts me anymore, and I know how to deal with bad stuff like a brave knight. Those few months cost a bit more than I can afford but far less than I expected to pay in total for a piece of mind. Either the match was a brilliant coincidence, or they are really good at matching.
The website itself and its interface are great as well, never had problems. If you are in a similar situation, I recommend you to try it, even for a month. That's 4 meetings, and it should be more than enough for you to see if it works for you. You can also change therapists whenever you like if you are not as lucky as me.
Ask a friend for a referral link to get 1 or 2 weeks free in your first month (if they want 1 week for themselves you get 1, but they can opt-out and give you 2).
Pros and Cons:
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
