I believe the first step one takes in their wellness journey is to acknowledge the need to reach out for help and guidance. I reached out to BetterHelp, unsure of what the outcome would be but determined to find the peace and happiness I felt I deserved. BetterHelp expeditiously responded to my inquiry. I completed a brief survey and was then matched with a therapist. Even though my first few sessions were emotionally charged, I felt heard. My therapist acknowledged the pain I was experiencing while supporting my worthiness of peace and happiness. Once I felt heard, I was then guided to reflect on my own core values that have become my beacon of light and hope as I continue along my wellness journey. I have learned to include some practices in my daily routine that promote a positive and healthy mindset.
