I was a little apprehensive when I first started because not only was it my first sort of experience with therapy (I had a school counselor but she wasn't very good), it was also the first time I was ready to work through alot of the issues that were arising from my childhood sexual abuse experiences. Having it online is very convenient and fast. You can speak through text/chat, video, or phone call. Be mindful of having a decent internet connection of course. After answering questions I matched with a counselor, she was very helpful and encouraging and she has really helped with the depression and self-loathing issues I was having, among other things like boundaries and intimacy-related issues. Additionally, I found BetterHelp's customer service to respond very fast and be very understanding. They are extra nice and helpful.
People should be aware of the difference between therapy given by Psychotherapists vs Counselors and what the difference might be though so they can better know what they need. Changing counselors is very easy as well and financially they settle or give credit for any weeks you did not use in the case that you wish to unsubscribe for a certain reason. They allow for a 3-week hold on payment as well if a person needs a break of 3 weeks or less.
Altogether I would definitely recommend BetterHelp to people.
Pros and Cons:
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
