Over the years I have sometimes used in-person counselors and other times used BetterHelp. I am usually skeptical about anything online (I always rather do the in-person version), but online therapy has surprisingly been the best thing ever for me. I am able to keep up with therapy while traveling for work and on vacations. I am able to schedule therapy around my shift hours, which change often. And, honestly, the quality of therapy I've received from BetterHelp counselors has been as good, if not better, than counseling I have received in person. Another thing is that sometimes therapist offices feel really weird and intimidating. And having a therapist staring at me can make me so nervous that I clam up. With BetterHelp, I always opt to due phone therapy and the anonymity of them never seeing my face and not knowing my full name, helps me feel so much more comfortable being authentic and letting my guard down. And I never have to worry about the discomfort of possibly running into my therapist at the grocery store, or of them knowing someone I know. It helps me feel more relaxed during therapy sessions.
Pros and Cons:
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
