Good interview

My interview was with Tiffany. Tiffany was very good at explaining everything to me and to my 8-year-old granddaughter, who had more questions than I had...she answered them all. I received my kit not too long after the interview, maybe about a week. I put them on the next day. It irritated me the first couple of days because I wasn’t used to having them, but I tell you, this within four days I started seeing some changes in my bottom teeth.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Month 3 and showing improvement!

I made my appointment on July 25 at a Smile Bus. I had been reading reviews for a time to decide if I wanted to try SmileDirect. Was happy to see on Facebook that a Smile Bus was coming close to our area (Manhattan, KS). The closest Smile Shop would be a 2-hour drive to Wichita, KS.

I am 69 with some periodontal issues, 4 areas where my gums are receding. I have 6 crowns. They still excepted me for a Smile plan.

I am in my 3rd month. During that time, I have had one aligner that was not quite right. The Dentist overseeing me had me move on to the next set of aligners. Was pretty sore for a few days but worked fine. My gum issues are no worse. Perhaps a little better with the frequent brushing and flossing.

I struggled with removing the bottom aligners, especially the third set which is heavier plastic. I finally started reaching inside with the outie tool and lifting up. Then go around the front and lift. Works for me!

.I'm seeing nice movement of my teeth and can't wait for the final product, straight teeth

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Non-professional

Went for a consultation and was informed several times that I could cancel within 3 days. My mum canceled after 2 days and yet the charge still went through and they proceeded to send us the aligners. Despite my mum calling several times, they have deflected her calls and when she finally got through was informed that it was her fault! She was also misinformed of the steps needed to send the aligners back and receive a refund. We still have the package with us. I am outraged due to the lack of communication and professionalism.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Lies lies

They told me I had a Dr. Amanda Girardi who is in Maryland where I’m from who will be helping with my journey. I googled her and she is not in Maryland, she is in Arizona somewhere. Why lie? I am going to get my refund today.

Take your business and money to a real orthodontist

I wish I had good things to say about this company, but surely I do not. My consultation went great and I was extremely pleased when the gal who did my consultation called my insurance company for me. She came back into the room and said "Ma'am, I just got off the phone with your insurance and the $1,500 ortho coverage that you have will be covered. All you'll have to do is pay today (either by installments or one lump sum) and once you've got the aligners, you can email us to get the insurance claim paperwork sent over." So I did just that. I sent my claim paperwork to my insurance company and within a few days...DENIED. So I figured...must've been a fluke thing and sent it again...DENIED. WTH! So, of course, I reach out to my insurance to figure out what the issue is, and they said that the information about the dentist doesn't match what they have in their records (Delta Dental). So then I reach out to SDC to see what I should do, and that is when they decided to tell me that Delta Dental doesn't work with their database of licensed orthos and pretty much I was SOL. I am beyond frustrated with this scam of business and now I am out $1900. I'm also 5 weeks in and haven't seen a lick of difference in my teeth. So I may have just thrown $1,900 out the window on an absolute garbage product. So - be warned - just save your sanity and cough up the extra dough to go to a REAL ortho that will take care of your teeth and leave you with actual VISIBLE results.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Really quick but thorough process

Really quick but thorough process. Very nice people (hi - Natasha G!) who went through everything. After having had Invisalign 10 years ago (lesson learned: wear your retainer!), the process was so easy in comparison. I had a 3D model in front of me straight away.

Love love loved my free exam!

My experience today at SmileDirectClub was amazing, had lots of freebies and gifts to bring home as well as a great associate who practically treated my son my fiance and I like family! Get name was Searcy, and I have to state, how wonderful she was at explaining everything not leaving anything out! How nurturing she was to my wild 2-year-old son! She gave him a coloring book and crayons when he started to get fussy which I greatly appreciated! GIVE THIS BEAUTIFUL SOUL A RAISE! She was very warm-hearted and thorough and made she we all left with a literal SMILE!

Happy with my smile

I am on month 5, tray 3/4, I am beyond happy with my progress. I actually smile and have gained my confidence back. I love the lip balm!

Some advice for future users. Start your tray at night, and if your tray is cutting your gums or tongue file it down.

Hype, and poor service if you have a problem

Started with SmileDirect one year ago. Problem has not been corrected. Have been through two "redo" and am waiting on the next set of aligners. It has been 6 weeks and aligners are still "in production". I think it's BS and they don't want to honor their contract.

Horrible! Do not get these!

I received my kit and like all new patients, I was really excited. Read the directions, shaved down the braces, and placed them in. Within 2 days I had ulcers in my mouth, and could barely eat and talk due to the extreme pain. Returned the package back. Was told the accounts management department would call me in 3-5 business days. Never got a call. Returned the braces and they were received, was told it would take 7 days to review the return. The problem is that no one called, no one bothered to email. There was no patient concern from the company. AND, no promise to not charge my card. This company is a joke.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
