I was able to easily do some research online in the system, and when I got stuck, I jumped to the chat feature and started a dialog with Jordan, who became my loan officer. She helped me through the process and then kept the conversation going as I moved through my evaluation.

Once the decision was made, the rest of the team made it easy. The online portal to upload docs and ask/answer questions saved so much time.

I had used Quicken previously for a refinance on a prior home and was quite pleased. This time, I reached out to Quicken again for an origination mortgage and I could not be happier with how simple and straightforward the process was from start to finish. I submitted documents once and was actually stunned that I never had to re-send anything. My realtor was quite amazed that I was able to obtain a Verified Approval Letter for the mortgage on a Sunday night and even talk with a live person on a Sunday evening. I love this process!

Rocket started off a little slow and was not exactly what is advertised on the Tube. Getting preapproval was strenuous because it was not clear ahead of time what all I would need to collect and submit. It tended to be where a request would come through and then if I didn't get it scanned in immediately, I would get a call every day from the advisor during work hours. The administrator at this period did not explain a whole lot of what was required and what the meaning of a lot of things was as a first time home buyer.

Otherwise, someone was always available for any questions I had after the pre-approval process, and the rest went rather smoothly. The interface of their site is clean and easy to use and gives a great breakdown for payments. Afterward, and throughout, I received way too many requests to review Rocket Mortgage's services. This is the last one I do.

Mostly went well except we were lied to about the closing date. We asked for 11/30 and were told no issue with this. Later told we had to close by 11/20 or lose the interest rate. Also, the amount of cash back kept changing.

Overall the experience was much faster compared to other private mortgage company we have worked with in the past. The web portal is easy and fast, making the process simple. The responses from the RM reps were fast if not sometimes instantaneous. We actually closed ahead of schedule.

We come prepared with all the documents and Quicken had the most competitive rates as we shopped around. Overall very satisfied.
