Know I consulted a physician before I took and received clearance for ProPlant. I don't smoke or drink. Only allergy is Spring tree pollen (minor at best). I exercise daily.
Review as follows:
Stevia ingredient (terrible), gives an aftertaste, and, due to its phytochemistry still, in this case, has a way too sweet influence (affect) compared to regular sugar. Stevia's aftertaste is comparable to that of neurotoxic Aspartame, Splenda, and other sugar substitutes, unfortunately. Strange/unpleasant.
Monk Fruit (Siraitia grosvenoril) would have been better for a sweet substitute. Its effect is milder, including no aftertaste.
Re: monk fruit (aka monkfruit). No aftertaste when you use monk fruit as a sweetener. Plus, monk fruit is also good to use for weight loss, fights against diabetes, is anti-inflammatory, preventative against cancer, fights infections, prevents kidney failure, promotes heart health, benefits the immune system, gives relief from seasonal allergies, and supplies the body with beneficial vitamins and minerals.
Walk away from the ProPlant shake and it turns into a green glom of very thick mucus-like blob of slime. Why?
At first, it was helping with my respiratory. It seemed to help with combating the side effects of pollen allergens at the systemic physiological respiratory level. This was interesting to me. Excellent.
Abdominally, my gut did not like the ProPlant ingredient combo. Whatever the thickening agent is, plus Stevia (which has been shown to alter the gut microbiota, as many bacteria are unable to break it down into digestible components), I believe, was not good.
Additionally, Stevia may also cause side effects like bloating, gas, and nausea. So there's your complaints about nausea from other ProPlant users.
After a month of use and cramping, I stopped using the shake. I am returning back to normalcy.
Recommendation: Take Stevia out and integrate monk fruit instead. Pull from shake and make it a liquid form, minus the thickening agent (slime effect). Horrible.
Please, don't give me a patronizing response, but rather send this to Doctor Gundry, as a field aid for future consideration re products.
Doctor Gundry researches and acts. I do love Doctor Gundry for his avid passion to investigate. He's up there with Doctor Peter D'Adamo (Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type). Note, both came to the point on lectins.
I have Doctor Gundry's books with an emphasis on cookbooks. He makes total sense. He is an excellent teacher with a profound educational and experiential reach.
Length of Use: Less than 3 months
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
