I have bought and sold 7 single family homes in my lifetime. Buying and selling homes is one of the most stressful times of your life.
Do I want to sell? How do I choose a good real estate sales company? How do I find a good real estate agent I can trust? How do I price my home? What if I price it too high or too low? What should I do to my house to make it sell for a higher price? Do I need to remodel any of the rooms? Do I need new carpet? What do I do with my dogs or cats? How can I sell the house I'm living in and move to the house I want to buy or that I am building new?
The list of questions is endless. Emotions get involved when you start second guessing yourself. Then there are the house showings. The low ball offers. The real estate agents advise, but they get their 6% no matter what you do. There is an endless stream of paperwork. Offers fall through due to financing problems. The process starts over. You have to be out of the house for showings. Where do I put my pets? Your house has to be spotless for showings. Then there are the offers that want your appliances or other personal effects like furniture and fixtures. This is a high-stress time of your life and there is nothing you can do to change how the real estate system is set up. Everything is geared to reward the real estate companies and agents. There are no rewards for the home seller and by the time you go to closing you get more expenses to be paid by you.
When I discovered Opendoor it was like a breath of fresh air. They made the entire home selling process a stress-free event. They offered me more than I expected to sell for. I needed a quick sale and they made that happen. You are in control of all the decisions without having to hear the sales pitches of real estate agents. They went out of their way to help me get what I wanted done. Great communications with friendly Opendoor staff. This was absolutely the best experience of home selling that I have ever had.
