My wife Terri and I decided to sell our house in Charlotte and move to our Florida house. I heard of Opendoor on the radio so I went to their website and in less than 5 minutes I completed their online process detailing our property and in a few hours I had an email with the purchase price, their fee, closing cost, and my net proceeds. There was one open condition and that was that they would need to do a home inspection, which could find items that need fixed, so possible additional cost to us. Well, if I sell my house through a Realtor company, they have the same inspection requirement, so no problem. Next we schedule a phone meeting with one of their representatives, which lasted about 30 minutes. During this call they laid out all the next steps, which were few, but the best part was they stated, if at any time we are not happy, when can cancel the process at no cost to us, even on the day of closing. What did I have to loose? Nothing!
However, we thought it best to talk to two Realtor companies, so I picked number 1 and 2 in Charlotte, you probably can guess who they are, and schedule appointments. What I would net with these two were within $2,000, but compared to Opendoor, I would net $14,000 more in my pocket without and showings, open houses, etc. We scheduled the inspection for 2 days later, there representative showed up to do the main insecption, along with HVAC and roof inspector. They were very respectful and all were gone in about 4 hours. Two days later they email me the report is ready and I set up an appointment to review with my Opendoor representative, we go over it and the found 3 items that needed corrected, which I agreed with. I had the option to correct myself or they would do for the price they gave me with the report, so I let them correct and they would deduct $904 from my proceeds.
At this point, we had to decide when we wanted to close, earliest was 21 days from the point I accepted the offer up to 60 days. We had a lot to get done, so we picked 60 days, which would be June 14. The law firm taking care of the closing were equally awesome and we actually signed our papers on June 13, so we could leave for Florida and the actual close with Opendoor was on Friday. We arrived at our place in Florida on June 14 and at the end of the day I checked my bank account and my proceeds were in my account. This is the tenth property we have sold and we have never had such a smooth, easy, professional process. We highly recommend Opendoor and that is why I wrote this review.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
