As a Bay Area resident, I have long respected Dr. Gary Richter. In fact, he even spoke at our breed conference. I bought 12 jars of the supplements. However, some of the business practices I have encountered make me feel like I’m buying from a snake oil vendor. The most recent one? I just received an email to review the product which asked me what my rating would be. I selected "Average," which is actually my experience using this product with 4 dogs for 3 weeks. I was taken to a customer service contact page. When I backtracked and hit "Excellent," I was invited to leave this review. In other words, no one is allowed to leave anything except favorable reviews. Very shady. Also, the infomercial, in particular, was just overkill, like something you would see on late late night TV. While Dr. Richter does rely on traditional veterinary medical science with proper scientific method, much is based on "his experience." While anecdotal evidence sometimes is "best evidence" in science, I would feel better if he could provide some scientific studies as to the alternative "holistic" ingredients in this supplement. Just gave me a bad taste in my mouth, especially for such a well respected professional as Dr. Richter.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Regarding the ingredients in Nutra Thrive, each raw material is tested multiple times to ensure that we are providing the highest quality ingredients for our products. Each raw material also has to pass multiple tests before it can be accepted into inventory at the manufacturing facility.
