Noom is great!

I am extremely happy with Noom. The best part about it is that in addition to tracking my activity and food, and thinking about what I eat in a new way, I’m educating myself on the psychology and sociology of how I eat. Every time I’ve hit a plateau, or been frustrated with my progress, the article for the day has been exactly what I need to stay motivated. I like having a coach to hold me accountable, and it’s been cool to be in a group and share the experience with others. Noom is helping me change my mindset about how I view food.

Daily advice

I have yoyo dieted for years and always put the weight back on. This program gives you lots of information on a daily basis. And that helps me to focus on my health and my goals. So far I have enjoyed it. The feedback is very helpful. And having team members, you feel like you always have someone to talk with.

My 5 weeks

I've been very impressed with Noom. This is actually the longest I've ever stuck with any weight loss program. They've taught me to think of food in an entirely different way. Also how to judge what's going on in my brain, instead of just reacting. I hope to continue to have the success that I've had. It's good to have the group to lean on also.

Noom has been great

I have had a great experience with Noom. It works for me because it makes me be accountable for what I'm eating, made me realize how much of an overeater I was. This plan works for me because it works on all aspects of your body. You work on your mindset, your physical body, and how to make the whole thing work together. It makes me want to be a part of the program. I wake up every day happy to open my app so I can see what I need to do to improve myself.

I love how you have so much support. Between the group and personal coach, it has been great. I only could give a 4-star though as I wish my coach was just a little quicker to respond, but I also realize I'm not the only one she is helping.

Logging is a good thing

Logging my weight and meals is a good way to keep me on track. It is very easy to do, most of my foods are already on the app and just need to enter amounts.

So far I am very thrilled with the ease of this method.

Have lost weight and learned to eat healthier.

I have been pleasantly surprised at my progress with Noom. Not only have I learned valuable info on healthy eating, their food hints have lead me to overcome pain from a food sensitivity. I have lost weight, gained energy and better control of my diabetes. I love how they include the psychology of everything...it’s like having a dietician, trainer, and therapist all in one.

A different kind of healthy

I've done several programs and diets over the years. This is the first program where they want you to learn. Learn about the why's, the how's, the triggers, the reasons. In 40 days I have lost 15 lbs. I have so much more energy. My body craves healthy food and fights back when I splurge. I am encouraged to move more by my coach and my group. The gym is becoming a habit instead of a have-to. And my husband loves all of it. Aside from some billing issues, which were quickly cleared up, I have been very happy with everything. I look forward to continuing to create my new healthy.

So far so good

Like many others I am sure, I made a New Year's resolution to get healthier and lose weight. I saw an ad for a two-week free trial of Noom and was immediately hooked. Although the start of the program doesn’t really focus on exercise, being mindful of what I eat and reading the daily tips and quizzes has also motivated me to get back to exercising. In just one month I am down 10.2 pounds and I am already seeing that I have more stamina when I exercise, and I am sleeping better too. I committed to a six-month program and I hope that when I get there, I will have learned how to keep up the positive changes.

Can do without the Coach or Group

The group and coach are pointless. I would still subscribe and pay if there was a cheaper option to not have those aspects to it. The psychology and meal tracking and step tracking is where it’s at and is very beneficial. It has helped me learn about better balancing foods, thought traps, being more conscious of what I eat and when and why. The only thing I would change is you should give the coaches fewer people to work with so they can actually get to know you.

For example, the questions and responses are very automated sounding and they even sometimes copy and paste them and don’t erase the other person’s name. I feel like it’s very impersonal and I would really rather just have that setting turned off. If you don’t respond, they keep sending you the messages, so it’s hard to just avoid.

The group has like 30 people in it and the only time people post is when they’re self-deprecating themselves on why they "suck" and will "never lose weight." But yeah, if I could not participate in that part, that’d be great.

Also, I really think there should be website access. I'd like to be able to visit the website on a laptop or PC and be able to read my saved articles or log my meals. Also, there is sometimes stuff that you have to write down or do on a piece of paper; I think having the ability to save all up on a worksheet online would be a great feature. Lots of opportunity.

Good program, app needs tuning

Noom in my estimation is a good program which does a very good job in helping to establish healthy attitudes toward losing and maintaining weight without prescribed meals or eating routines. Each participant has an individual coach, and, for those who thrive on group feedback and participation, a group is available for their use.

I have found two issues with the app:

1) The pedometer does not consistently record the number of steps. There have been a number of times where step counts were not added, one notable time being after ten minutes on the treadmill with no steps counted.

2) Calories attributed to a product which has a bar code do not necessarily correspond to the value as stated on the product nutritional label.
