There are some very small details that need to be fixed, but overall I am very happy with the program.
I’m not "happy" because it made me lose weight - I did that. I’m not "happy" because I just tried it for 2 days and I like the way the app flows or whatever.
I am happy because Noom combines the best of all the weight-loss advice, the best of all the psychology, the best of all the physiology, all into one program...and I haven’t found conflicting or misleading or even particularly poorly-worded information (except one time you called my elephant "evil" and my elephant isn’t evil, it’s just short-term driven).
The calorie logger? Eh, it could be smoother, but I’m not used to any other calorie logger, so I’m fine with this.
I ADORE that Noom adds back calories as you exercise and burn through the day! I. LOVE. THAT.
Things I want to see updates for:
1) The exercise I do is mostly walking...so I get calories added back to my budget for BOTH "calories burned" in my Apple Watch AND "steps taken." Uhhhhh except those are the same steps, and I shouldn’t get a double rebate like that. But hey, it’s still super rewarding to have done a lot of walking back and forth at work and look at Noom and see you’ve bumped up to a 1900 calorie day (given that I start the day with a 1200 calorie budget)!
2) I want the barcode reader available for my recipes. I want to be able to log multiple-serving food by barcode! If I make a rice dish with a packet of this brand rice (which is in the database) and a jar of that sauce (in the database) and a can of this other thing (in the database) and it made four servings...that’s a pretty standard thing in my house...please help me do this even better-ER!
3) The group discussion part needs work, but...well. It just needs work.
4) Some of the calorie counts are off or don’t make sense, but there’s nowhere to explain WHAT is wrong.
Having said all that, my biggest issue is the double-rebate for walking exercise - can I maybe have an option to switch off the "calories burned" calculation for the step counter portion of the app? That would be great. Or maybe you have a better idea? And the barcode scanner for recipes, with the ability to say "whole package" or "whole can" or whatever.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
