Some good, some not so good.

By Lauren T., Roseville, MI, Verified Reviewer

Personally, I have learned a lot from Noom’s daily studies and tips/tricks.

The positives are that the setup of these tips and plans are very strategically placed throughout your course and helpful overall.

The negatives are that the support from your coach, and group coach leave a LOT to be desired. Can go days without a response from your coach, and the responses are very generic and almost seem computerized instead of personal.

And the group coach? Expect some "likes" on your posts, but besides that, the only thing they do is post a weekly task on Mondays with no follow through.

I think Noom is helpful for self-study and self-improvement, but I don’t feel the personal touch like I expected. My group is all significantly older than me, so it’s hard to connect with them, and they as well barely post/comment.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Trying to get my money back

By Linda O., Columbia, MO, Verified Reviewer

I found another program that gives me all the resources I was using from Noom for FREE! I didn’t mind paying for the first month, but I wanted to get the money back for the remainder of the program.

Not what I thought it would be

By Paula P., Madison, WI, Verified Reviewer

This was not a great experience and my coach was non-existent. If you have expectations that it will be a personal experience, it will not be a personal experience at all. I anticipate that much of the contact is managed via chatbots and voice capture analysis. People seem few and far between. I recommend Jenny Craig.

Noom offers a better way to a healthier life.

By Roger C., Gainesville, FL, Verified Reviewer

From the first day, it was clear Noom was different. The explanations seem to be in tune with what is happening and offer solutions just when they are needed. It is a great blend of science, psychology, and sociology when it comes to our addiction to food and has simple solutions to making healthy choices. It incorporates many other approaches to weight loss, but takes the pain, frustration, and guilt away. We all need a healthy approach to food which is sustainable. Noon is that solution and well worth the expense. It is focused upon yourself, but has built-in individual and group support. It is also convenient, takes only minutes a day, but leads to lifestyle changes for those who choose to be healthy.

Working for me!

By Michele K., Pennsylvania, Verified Reviewer

There's a lot of haters or skeptics out there, mostly because there is a lot of vagueness about the specific price in the ads about Noom. If that information was up front, then, like any other "diet," it would work for and not for others.

I like it, and it does a lot of the explaining which sometimes I gloss over, but I take away what I want from it, and I have lost 20lbs so far.

Easy to use.

By Virginia S., Mercedes, TX, Verified Reviewer

Being a senior citizen, I was looking for something that was easy and simple to understand. Was not interested in the high price sights that required volumes of reading. Noom is a fit at this time.

Patrick is gentle with me and my concerns as well as issues I am dealing with.

Glad I discovered Noom

By Dena H., Crandall, IN, Verified Reviewer

I had seen many weight loss programs on Facebook recently. I was familiar with all of them except Noom.

I've done Weight Watchers three or four times in a fifteen-year span. Bought books on carb diets. Watched videos on exercising weight off. Checked out the Adkins Diet, the Keto Diet, and other flash-in-the-pan celebrity diets. Noom was the first one that talked about the psychology of weight loss. Once the ads started appearing on TV, I was more intrigued. I signed up for six months and felt this was the right fit for me from day one's communication.

I enjoy starting my morning with the tasks and pep talks. Even the pop quizzes. The personal coach and the group coach are great resources and sources of encouragement. Being a bit of an introvert, I like not having to "check in" at meetings or fitting in a time to drive somewhere to weigh in. Being able to read other people's triumphs, challenges, and goals is inspiring. You have insight into people like you, and can participate in chats whenever you feel like it.

Noom's food database is endless with the ability to add your own recipes or food brands.

I've been Nooming for five weeks and I honestly feel like it isn't a diet I'm committed to but a healthy life change. Very glad I took a chance and signed up. I believe it has and will change my life for the better.

Good - could be great

By Larry W., DeWitt, IA, Verified Reviewer

This diet app is full of useful tools beyond the weight scale. Daily tips contain some useful information, and I would have given the app a full five stars if the typos were in correct English instead of baby-talk and ignorant hard-to-decipher "Noomisms." Still, the value lies in the many aids for recording blood pressure, weight, blood sugar, calorie counters and even recipes for favorite meals. Worth the money, even more so because of individual "coaches" who can be trusted advisors.

Becoming a better version of me!

By Kristie M., Conway, NH, Verified Reviewer

I joined Noom to lose weight. Now only 5 weeks in, I have lost 7 pounds, I am realizing it is a whole lifestyle change. I have tried lifestyle changes in the past for weight loss, but they were so drastic and not sustainable. Noom has taught me how to make lifestyle changes gradually so that it is easy and I always feel like I am succeeding. My new "norm" is so much more comfortable than my old norm! I am such a logical thinker that at first, I thought none of this psychology stuff would work for me. I already knew some of the psych tricks but knew "that won't make a difference" knowing how many steps I've taken in a day, or logging my food to be more aware of what I'm eating. I walk right now as I text, because it is my new norm. Why sit when I can move? Thanks Noom!

Wonderful

By Nanette M., Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I finished one program and found it beneficial; it taught me to be aware of the value of what I was eating.

Committing to track my food was easier than I expected and helped keep me focused.

Comments were so helpful, the organization of materials easy to follow.

The humor kept me smiling.

I have enrolled in the program again as I still have much to learn.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The best online program I’ve seen

By Mary Jane B., Jacksonville, FL, Verified Reviewer

Noom is something truly different. It has given me a whole new perspective on health, weight loss, and exercise. I’m in the "not much to lose" range - 15-20 lbs. I have learned new ways to understand my relationship with eating, healthier choices that don’t involve deprivation, and ways of coping with "food pushers" and buffet tables. The logging is easy. The community is good, and the coaching is real. Highly recommended if you’re ready to be responsible for your health.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
