Amazing

Noom has helped me change my thought process about food. I am learning which foods are best for me and which foods to limit. I do not have to exclude any food. I just have to watch the amounts eaten so that I do not eat more than the caloric amount per day. I have also started incorporating exercise as well. My personal coach pushes me to improve my diet and exercise and checks in weekly. I have access to her when I need a push or when I have questions.

My group leader and fellow members all cheer each other on to meet our goals. We share our trials and tribulations with each other as support each other with solutions.

Best program

Over the years I have tried different weight loss programs including making up one of my own. I have never lost this much weight in such a short time. This program takes into account several aspects of weight loss: eating right and changing your attitude about food, exercise without necessarily having to use weight training, psychology to teach new tips and tricks about food, helpful goal specialists who help to keep you on track and advise you new goals. No other program that I know of offers this kind of well-rounded knowledge about weight loss.

Really has helped me break through my plateau

Noom has really helped me so much and realize what tweaks I needed for my nutrition. Not only has my eating improved but that mental connection is amazing! I'm learning how to overcome derailing thoughts and accept minor setbacks.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because you cannot access the app without a phone...not good if your phone breaks.

I lost nine pounds in a month!

I love the Noom app. It is easy to use and it keeps track of all of my "important" stuff: the meals that I eat, the calories I have consumed, the number of steps that I have taken and any other additional activity that I have completed. I love the daily articles, they are funny, quirky and contain some awesome research that I was unaware of...and that from a veteran dieter! My amazing coach, Cory D is very positive and really helpful in keeping me on track. There are also recipes available that I will be looking into using. The best part of Noom is that I learned about low-calorie density foods. This knowledge helped me to make food choices that kept me full and satisfied and able to stay within my calorie intake for each day. Thank you Noom Nerds! I shared your page on Facebook. I am on my way, happily, to my goal!

Great way to be accountable

Noom is just enough oversight to help keep you on track with your weight loss and health goals. Noom also explains the science and psychology behind weight loss and healthy eating. And long term success in weight loss is understanding how and why!

So I'm very confident now that I'll not only reach my weight loss goal, but that I'll be able to maintain it long term because I have the tools and strategies I need to do so. I haven't felt deprived or like I was missing out on anything since I began Noom, and that's why I know I'll reach my weight loss goal and be able to maintain it.

Helpful accountability and educational tool

I've been part of the Noom program for about a month. I've seen results, not only on the scale but in my mindset. It's a lot of knowledge to take in, but the app makes it fun and digestible (pun intended). The individual attention from a coach and the group support are both incredibly helpful.

Interesting

Noom is an interesting look at weight loss. It doesn't tell you what to eat, doesn't tell you when to eat or how much to eat. What it does is makes you think of why you eat, why you eat the amount of food you do eat. Noom gives you research and studies about the eating behavior, and how to rethink your eating habits. It has made me think about my eating behaviors and how to change my thinking of food. Sometimes there is so much information and research available, it loses me. You communicate with your group and a leader is available 5 days for any help or follow up you might need.

I do have a problem with one part of the app. That is the step tracking. Still haven't figured that part.

It works!

I am enjoying Noom and have had success. It works! The encouragement and guidance the program provides are great. My only glitch has been getting my Fitbit synced with the Noom app. Noom counts your steps through your phone, but, for example, when I am taking a Jazzercise class, I don’t carry my phone on me. Therefore, I have tried to sync my Fitbit. Sometimes the Noom app syncs and sometimes it doesn’t. My exercise step count is rarely correct in the Noom app. Otherwise, I am very happy with the information and support I am receiving from Noom!

OUTSTANDING!

I have been wanting to lose some weight and feel healthier and more energetic for many years. Five weeks ago, my daughter-in-law told me about the Noom app. I decided to give it a try.

I like everything about the Noom app. Every day I wake up to their informative-yet-funny brief "articles" on a variety of aspects of losing weight, and (equally interesting, helpful, and easy to understand) what it means to adopt a healthier lifestyle (replacing harmful habits with life-giving good habits) as a lifestyle.

I was assigned a Coach who texts me weekly, to ask specific questions on how I’m doing, to help guide me in making one specific goal for the week, and for encouragement.

Beginning week 3, I was assigned a support group (led by another Coach). We can text one another 24/7, share struggles and victories, and cheer one another on. The Coach interacts with us daily, and guides us in a discussion of whatever topic we read about that day. It’s not time-consuming; just enough interaction to keep you focused. You can interact as little or as much as you wish. No one puts you on the spot.

In just 5 weeks, I’ve lost 5 pounds. Others have lost more, but I chose the slower path, so I could take my time to slowly (one by one) acquire new, healthy, sustainable habits.

I’ve been experiencing more energy and a much better frame of mind. I’m eating healthy every day, and am able to also have a little dessert. I’m exercising and more active than I’ve been in many years. The best part is that I’m enjoying it! It’s not a burden at all.

In my opinion, all you need to be successful is to be at a place mentally and physically that you’re sick of feeling uncomfortable with excess weight/low energy/low mood day after day, and willing to take one day at a time under the direction of the Noom app people.

I took the time to write this review because I am confident the Noom app program is something that could make a huge difference in very many lives.

In an effort to be completely honest, I asked myself what I would change/don’t like about the app.

The only thing I thought of was that occasionally I get the impression that this is a "course," and at some point people finish the course. I’m not clear on this. Personally, even when I reach my goal weight and have incorporated a number of healthy habits, I know I will want/need assistance to keep this as a lifestyle/be overall consistent.

It works

It's the greatest. I have tried dieting in the past and it never felt sustainable (and guess what, it wasn't). Noom, however, helps you change your mind about eating. My attitude toward eating has changed. I'm feeling better and exercising again (not because I have to, but because I want to). Since mind is changing, so is my eating and my body. All for the better. Five weeks in started at 219 and I’m now 206. I’ve been Noomed!
