It’s working!

I just completed a month on the program and I’m down 13 pounds. I’m not starving myself, and I’m not exercising all day (actually not much at all). The program teaches you different ways to think about eating. It also provides many recipes. I also have an individual coach that contacts me weekly. But I have contacted her other than on our regular day and she responds...there’s also a group coach that posts every day. You weigh yourself daily and log all your calories. It definitely keeps me in perspective and makes me accountable for what I’m eating/drinking.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Like the information, not the app

Noom provides a wealth of information in a fun and easy way to learn. They teach you a lot about mindset and how to create new habits that build on one another.

You have a 1-on-1 Goal Specialist and a Group Coach (not sure why they aren't the same person?). I like this information and the tips from both my Goal Specialist. The Group Coach always have really good ideas and articles. Unfortunately, we can add these articles to our library. Noom does allow you to bookmark those articles that have information you want to refer back to.

I really wish there was a way to download these articles and not always have to go in and use the app.

That is where the love ends. The food logging is terrible because so many foods are not in the database. The scanner to enter new food never works. If you only eat 1/2 of a food you can't change the portion size to 1/2, you have to calculate and input the new information. Can't track water. When it comes to the food, I just use MyFitnessPal app.

Last, the information is only on the app which means I have to use my phone or my tablet. It would be great if we could also access the information on a website. I have emailed the company with all of my frustrations and the reply back I received was, "the app works the way the app works and there will never be a website."

Last, to cancel your automatic renewal subscription, you have to go into the app and contact you Goal Specialist. I should be able to go into the app or ideally my account online and shut off the auto-renewal.

Honestly, the company makes getting their great information way too complicated. They are missing out on a whole group of people who don't live their lives according to apps!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

A program designed for me

Looking back at 30 years of struggling with weight loss and having taken HMR, Nutrisystem, Weight Watchers, and other programs, I know what to do. It's making the long term behavior changes to make it stick that never worked; being consistent long term. I want to be healthy and enjoy life. This program challenges me to think about why I have had trouble making the long term behavior changes and provides an easy tracking system and contact with coaches and group members to provides the accountability I know I need. The second month of program and I have seen significant changes along with confidence that I can do this for the long haul.

Noom helped me build my new normal!

I have loved my experience with Noom. Based on my regular interactions with my individual coach and my group coach, I know they are invested in my success. I am learning new skills each day, and am not making a lifestyle change overnight. The "slow and steady" methodology really works, and I know I will not return to the way I used to do things. Thank you, Noom, for showing me how to have my cake and eat it too, in moderation, and how to reward myself in ways outside of eating food.

So glad I joined Noom

Noom has helped me lose 14 lbs in my first 6 weeks. My goal is to lose 38 lbs. The parts that work for me are the accountability of recording my weight daily, the science-based educational program, logging in meals, and my coach.

Noom is not really about dieting as much as it is about changing your relationship with food, understanding why, when, what, where and how you eat, the psychology of weight loss, and research-based strategies to lose weight.

The educational content is presented in short, amusing, little reads and quizzes daily, building new habits week by week.

You log in the food you eat, which shows calories consumed and caloric density - an important concept in Noom.

Your coach provides individualized support as needed, and after the first 2 weeks your coach assigns you to an online support group with a group facilitator. My coach is friendly, funny and encouraging. I choose not to post much online with the support group, but some of the people really seem to like the online group.

I find Noom to be unique, convenient, fun, very motivating, a way to understand myself better, and a great path to weight loss. I feel little hunger - instead, I sleep better and have more energy.

I paid $1 for the first 2 weeks, then $129 for my 4-month program - which I consider a bargain. Bottom line is Noom has motivated me like nothing else, and I am doing great on Noom. I think you get out of it what you put into it. It is sure working for me, and I recommend it.

I love Noom

I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical at first. I was very glad that they allowed me to try the first two weeks for just one dollar. However, I soon found that I absolutely love this weight loss program. I love the way they teach new eating behaviors. It's like taking little bites of knowledge at a time and digesting it throughout the day. I also love the support of my group and my goal coach. I am starting to realize the bad habit that I have and replace them with new ones. The red, yellow, and green food groupings are easy to understand. I love the fact that no food is bad, I just have to watch how much I eat of it. I started this program 30 days ago, and I have already lost 17 lbs. It really, really works.

It's working!

So far Noom is working, and I'm happy that I'm losing weight.

There are some things I wish were different, however. I wish there was more 1-on-1 time with the personal coach. One day a week sucks. The group one is better, but I have trouble making my way around in it and identifying with most of the others in my group.

The food log is great! I'm impressed with all the foods that are on there but wish it were a little easier to get to the exact amount of whatever I'm trying to log. I am managing though so this is not a huge problem.

I wish we could take the subjects talked about a little slower so that we can absorb and practice them before we go on to the next. But it has been very educational, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much

On the whole, I'm happy I joined Noom. I'm learning! Thank you.

I have loved using this app

Noom makes it so easy to count calories to help lose weight. I lost weight many years ago counting calories and I lived with a pad of paper and calculator. With Noom, I don't have to do that. Also, the psychology tricks are very helpful in keeping me on track so I hopefully won't have to do this again. Noom is teaching me to look at food differently for a lifetime of change.

I love Noom!

I love the daily tasks with helpful information and tips. Noom really gets you thinking about food and weight loss differently than any other "diet" that I’ve tried. Noom isn’t a "diet." It’s really focused on helping clients create a sustainable lifestyle and viewing food differently. My goal specialist is wonderful, she gives great suggestions on what to focus on each week and listens to my specific concerns. The group coach is also wonderful! She encourages everyone to share their experiences and helpful tips and she gives discussion topics to get everyone thinking positively! Noom is all about encouraging everyone...I’d definitely recommend Noom anyone looking to lose weight and change their lifestyle!
