Noom has helped me lose 14 lbs in my first 6 weeks. My goal is to lose 38 lbs. The parts that work for me are the accountability of recording my weight daily, the science-based educational program, logging in meals, and my coach.
Noom is not really about dieting as much as it is about changing your relationship with food, understanding why, when, what, where and how you eat, the psychology of weight loss, and research-based strategies to lose weight.
The educational content is presented in short, amusing, little reads and quizzes daily, building new habits week by week.
You log in the food you eat, which shows calories consumed and caloric density - an important concept in Noom.
Your coach provides individualized support as needed, and after the first 2 weeks your coach assigns you to an online support group with a group facilitator. My coach is friendly, funny and encouraging. I choose not to post much online with the support group, but some of the people really seem to like the online group.
I find Noom to be unique, convenient, fun, very motivating, a way to understand myself better, and a great path to weight loss. I feel little hunger - instead, I sleep better and have more energy.
I paid $1 for the first 2 weeks, then $129 for my 4-month program - which I consider a bargain. Bottom line is Noom has motivated me like nothing else, and I am doing great on Noom. I think you get out of it what you put into it. It is sure working for me, and I recommend it.
