I have tried various methods to lose weight over the years and could never find something that worked for me. Part of that what is internal with me not being ready to make the changes necessary. At the same time, I’ll large part of it has been diet programs that have either been extreme or so controlling that you never learn what to do when you’re not dieting.
Noom is completely different and really helps take a look at all of the factors that influence your relationship with food. Not only am I getting support to become more healthy physically, I’m getting stronger mentally and socially. This app doesn’t make lifestyle change feel unachievable or like a bad diet.
The interface is clean and easy to use, and the combination of curriculum group support provided by peers and coaches have made it fun to use and something I look forward to every day. I only ever saw the ad for Noom once, and I think it must’ve been fate.
Even though I don’t meet face-to-face with my coach or peers, there is plenty of opportunity eight to engage with one another. This actually fits my busy lifestyle much better than having to drive somewhere to weigh in. As with all programs individual accountability is required. Unlike other programs, there’s so much more information provided about Psychology, physiology, and social dynamics that really help you think differently and understand the world around you better. Noom Nerds rock!
They’re only two things I would like to see different in the program. The first is to have a way to be able to search past lessons easier. There is a way to bookmark things that you find interesting at the same time so much of it’s interesting that you end up with a ton of bookmarks that you still have to sift through.
The second thing is that there appears to be no way to directly message your group coach. Sometimes you have questions I want to provide updates that you don’t want to post in a large group chat.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
