Noom review

I am 85 years old and have always been very active in many ways, especially in sports. I have never had to diet or watch what I ate but over the last few years the "belly fat" has accumulated and my clothes do not fit well and are not comfortable.

I've always been a walker but now with more regular attention to steps, getting in some yoga every day and staying within a 1200 calorie count I've begun to see a little more waistline, I feel better, and it's nice to have a goal to work toward.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Good change from other programs

I had done low carb and Keto for years, but it's almost impossible to keep it up forever. With Noom you can build any food not your daily budget and not feel deprived. So far in one month, I feel I'm making good progress. The coaching is helpful.

My new life.

Since joining Noom I have not only lost weight but learned what foods are best for me and become much healthier, slept a lot better and become a much happier person. I love that I haven’t had to totally give up everything I love to eat but can still enjoy my favorites as a treat sometimes. The recipes are great. My husband looks forward to all our meals now and we are both eating much smaller meals and feeling satisfied all the time. I would recommend Noom to anyone who is looking to eat better and improve their lifestyle.

Great app

I did the trial first because I was skeptical. Lost 2 lbs by the end of the trial and didn't feel deprived at all, which is huge! I was curious about the program still so decided to purchase the 4 months (though it bothered me a lot that I was not able to pay per month). My weight hasn't really done anything since the initial 2 lbs dropped but I've been motivated to work out, to eat less calorie dense foods, and my sugar cravings are all but gone. My favorite part of this program is its focus on behavior modifications and cognitive restructuring for lack of a better word. You learn to really pay attention to your body and take control without starving yourself. Also, the articles are great resources and the Noon team has a great sense of humor which throws in some relatability. I like my coach but don't like the group chat. I never enjoyed that structure, but I just don't use it and move on with my day.

Can't say enough. Love the program. Feeling I'm in control and not wasting energy "stressing" about food is hands down my favorite part. You won't regret doing this for yourself. The structure of the program is perfect. Small 10-15 minute segments each day. Have recommended it to several people already.

My Noom journey

This is the first program I've tried that I feel really helps you understand why we make the choices that we do. More importantly, it has helped me make better choices and maps out how our minds play a big part in all we do. It breaks everything down so that you can easily follow the steps and make the changes to a healthier lifestyle.

My one negative, if I am honest, is that I wish my goal coach was available more. I feel I don't hear from her but one time a week and if I have a question it takes an entire day or two for a response. More frustrating for me is she answers with a question and not always the answer. Other than that I love the program.

A lot of info

This is my 5th week in - I have only lost a pound; however, there has been a lot going on in my life this past 8-9 months and recently my husband had a major health issue, so I have not been able to concentrate on myself too much. That being said, I have had a lot of support from your coaches and the group that I am in.

I like the daily reads and encouragement that Noom offers. Sometimes it is a little overwhelming with the amount of info each day, but then the way it is broken down and put so that the user can specifically list their own issues is very helpful. I am looking forward to Noom helping me learn a new healthy lifestyle.

Working so far

It was time again to lose weight that I had put on over the years. I researched several different apps, but I kept coming back to the Noom app. I figured I would give it two weeks. Well, I’ve been using the app for 33 days and have lost over 19 pounds! It’s the daily learning about your body and most important the psychological approach. You get assigned a personal coach which I thought was going to be an AI (artificial intelligence) but she is real and responds back to my questions! My only complaint so far and this is personal, but I’m not very big in the group chat that you are assigned to. Overall thumb up!

Very pleased

I’ve lost weight using Noom and I’m pleased with that. I like the emphasis on just moving by having a step goal and, for me, that’s been very beneficial.

I’ve watched my weight for years and have dieted many different ways so a lot of what Noom advocates I’m very familiar with, but it’s helpful/encouraging to be reminded.

Because of my age (74) and the fact that I’m retired, a lot of the scenarios presented don’t apply to me. The app seems to be aimed at a younger audience, but I know how to adapt. So that’s not a problem. However, again maybe because of my age, I get weary of all the "cutesy" writing/verbiage in the explanations. There’s a lot of good, interesting, and informative material that, for me, is harder to get because of the "cutesy."

Noom is just what I needed!

I joined Noom completely on a whim!

I’ve struggled with my weight for a few years now and just couldn’t find something I was excited about that worked. I have tried Weight Watchers a few times with some success but was just completely bored with it.

In steps, Noom is absolutely everything I need to get moving in the right direction. The app is easy to use and I love the coaches that help me stay on track. I look at weight loss so differently now! I feel confident that I will reach my goal and maintain my weight because it has become my new way of life! Thank you, Noom!
