A real life-changer

I'll start with the only annoying thing - that is the corny acronyms and little too much # (hashtags). Maybe that's because I'm almost 60 and I don't embrace the whole social media as much as some of the younger ones.

I've been on the plan since January 1st, and I'm down 13 pounds, but I really feel like I'm making changes that are going to last for the rest of my life. I'm more aware of what I'm putting in my mouth, trying to make better choices, moving more, and enjoying all of it without feeling deprived. Sure, I slip a little from time to time, but it's not about feeling guilty, it's about looking at the big picture. I'm in, and I believe!

It's working!

So far, in this first month I've lost 13 lbs. I really appreciate the daily insights and helpful guidance. I think that these are what has made the difference for me from other weight loss attempts. The daily interaction, keeps me coming back to see what is new and to connect with my group. The science behind the program helps me to better understand areas of thinking that don't work and how to change them. I like the humor, but could do without the mild curse words.

My positive experience with Noom

I have been on many diets over the years and always lost weight and then gained it all back. I am learning a lot about my body, hormones, and the psychological aspect of eating healthy and staying healthy. For example, I did not understand why after losing 88 pounds I felt like I was starving all the time and gained back 29 pounds. Now I understand that I felt like I was starving because my hormones were telling me I was hungry and there are ways to counteract that! I am also learning how to hold myself accountable for my health and fitness and not have to rely on someone else to hold me accountable. I love that no food is off limits and I can have what I want in moderation. I have actually been able to eat two pieces of chocolate and not tried to eat the whole back after that! I love Noom, my personal coach, and my group coach! I have so many ways to feel supported and encouraged and I have valuable resources any time I need them. I also love the group I have been interacting with for more support, encouragement, and understanding.

Noom has almost everything

I love Noom’s program for getting a healthy diet and exercise going. It’s amazing how it walks you through every step of making real changes. The learning it provides through the little daily lesson is amazing. It’s the only program that addresses the psychology involved in weight loss as well as proving a ton of science and research. It has changed my life, and I know it is a permanent change! The only part that didn’t live up to the rest of the program was the group and the goal coach. It still needs improvement. Also, I purchased the diet and exercise program that was supposed to be designed especially for me after taking a survey, but it was just generic as far as I could tell. I have also purchased the DNA test but don’t have the results yet, so we’ll see. I would still recommend this to anyone!

Expectations

I was skeptical at first, to say the least. Been down the road many times. Decided to give it a chance. At 6 weeks I'm very satisfied with all the new things I've learned and my new healthy habits! I have made progress and have a long way to go. But, I see the method to the madness and it's working. I feel much better, I have more energy and most of all, I feel healthier! Will be sticking on this plan and referring it to others.

Since starting Noom the first of January I have felt so much better with myself. Noom is just so easy and fun...yes I said fun.

It really doesn't seem like I am trying to lose weight...I'm just following an app which helps to make it not seem like a chore.

Noom is a program that helps you address your day to day life challenges. It educates and makes you rethink why you make the bad choices and how both internal and external factors play an important role. As the program says from day one all you have to do is BELIEVE. It's not hard to follow, and what makes the program worth its money is that as soon as you are about to stumble, here is the lesson to help you before you can even go there with yourself. The materials they provide give you all you need. Plus your personal coach and group coach are marvelous and will help you through the process.

Not what I was hoping for...

This program seems to be created for someone who lives alone or with someone else who is participating with them. I can't stick to plans and practice tips and tricks when I have to live with others who are not at all interested in playing along. It contradicts itself at times (no foods are off limits and you can have anything in moderation vs. instead of cake and ice cream, celebrate your birthday with a nice walk around the block). For me, it destroys any joy you might find in eating (I'm sorry, but no one is going to have fun eating salad and celery sticks at a super bowl party). It makes exercise, the one good habit I have formed, appear minuscule and almost useless. Basically, 6 weeks in I feel more frustrated and down on myself than before I started. I will not be renewing. It is simply not for me.

Best program out there

I joined Noom.com on January 2nd after seeing an ad on television. The first 16 days were free and then a charge of just under $25 a month after that. You download an app to your phone and then have all the tools and online support. It is now February 2nd and I have lost 13 lbs. There are several great tools. A built-in pedometer which keeps track of your daily steps, you are encouraged to work your way up to 10000 steps a day. A calorie tracker that color codes your food choices into green, yellow and red. Letting you know how many calories to have each day. A coach to help you along the way and daily work to give you knowledge on how and what to do to lose and maintain your weight. You are also assigned to a group and encouraged to share. I am not a sharer, so this part is most difficult for me, I do share on occasion, but am not comfortable doing so. All in all the best program I have tried.

A lot to read in English, so it takes me more than 10 minutes. Great tips. It is helping me to change my thinking about all or nothing. Exercice is important and the choice of good. I world recommence it even though I was supposed to have a special rate, they charged my Visa full price.
