Not just another one of those diets, that don't work

By Pamela W., Tennessee, Verified Reviewer

If you are looking for just another diet, this is not it. Noom works because it is a realistic approach to eating. Every day you get helpful information to keep you on the right track. Did I say it was easy? Nope, but anything worth working for is never easy. You will have a few failures, but the good thing is they are right there with you. They help you understand you!

Noon is not a quick weight loss gimmick. It is a lifestyle change. Yes, you do lose weight, but slowly. Which will help your body adjust and not gain it all back.

I have tried every diet in the book. Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Nutri System, Hcg shots, Doctors Diet. You get the point. None worked for me. I gained it all back. Noom is a diet I can actually live with. No strange foods, no frozen TV dinners. Just plain simple food that you already are eating. I can have anything I want to eat. Yes, anything, as long as I follow the plan.

Noon is working for me! I love it! Yes, I actually have plenty to eat. I am just eating better and healthier.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Realistic and supportive app

By Jenny W., Woodinville, WA, Verified Reviewer

I have found Noom to be a well thought out app to support the development of a healthy lifestyle. The information shared in the daily lessons is a good balance between scientifically accurate, helpful ideas and tips to try, realistic goal setting, and motivational cheering. Noom emphasizes finding out what optimal health looks like to you individually - it’s not one size fits all. Beyond the daily app interaction (about 10 minutes of lesson material, and then food logging throughout the day), you also have the support of an individual coach who works with you to set a weekly goal, and then a support group of fellow Noomers, which is a good resource for ideas, recipes, etc. Overall I feel like this program helps me set realistic goals and supports me as I work toward them.

Great program, not great Android compatibility

By Angela S., Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Verified Reviewer

The articles, coaches, and group setting are fantastic. Information is given with a sense of humor, and in manageable quantities. I have no complaints about the program, I really like the realistic approach to weight loss.

The app's functionality using Android, however, is not as positive. In the food logging section, you can only create your own recipes using apple products, it's frustrating that I continually have to log every ingredient of common meals that I make. The pedometer function is also not good. I set it to draw from my Fitbit, which never worked. Then I had it going through Fit to Fit which works for a bit then shuts down. I also have tried it through Google Fit and it is continually inaccurate, and my step goal decreases daily (which makes no sense when I continually reach the goal). I have to regularly do manual updates to get an appropriate step count, I just want it to read my Fitbit. Finally, the list of exercises to choose from could use the addition of HIIT (high-intensity interval training), especially since intervals have been used as an example in the teachings.

Overall, I am enjoying the program and have seen some results. I just wish the app worked better on my Android operated phone.

Something beyond gimmicks

By Joan G., Carson City, NV, Verified Reviewer

I'm really enjoying Noom. I am finding the daily tasks and information very motivating. I don't feel that same pressure and unrealistic expectations of other programs. The food and movement components are attainable. It's great to have the psychological component there to help reframe so many old statements I held about myself and my ability to lose weight.

MyFitnessPal can almost do this

By Laurel H., Brewster, MA, Verified Reviewer

The articles and pace are great, but the calorie, workout, and fitness tracking can be done on free apps. The big differentiator is supposed to be the goal coach, but it took me telling me that he was unhelpful after a month to get him to help me set a goal. The group chat is cool, but I am not compelled to participate.

I can do this and keep it up long term!

By Marianne S., Louisiana, Verified Reviewer

I have been using Noom since my New Year's resolution began and I am still at it into February! I am seeing slow but steady progress, and I couldn't be happier. The app is very useful for calorie tracking and has been eye-opening as far as seeing where my calories are coming from and helping me keep eating in check. The daily lessons, based on solid science and psychology, are making me feel like I can do this and keep it up long term! I'm not feeling deprived, and I'm getting real-life strategies for living in a world where food and social eating is all around me all the time!

Slow start, much support

By Patricia S., Michigan, Verified Reviewer

I entered into the Noom experience on January 1, 2019, skeptical and planning to quit after the first free two weeks. Even though I am still moving through the program slowly, I am noticing positive changes, especially as it comes to the psychology of food behavior. I appreciate the personalized individual support from Paige T and from the Group.

I highly recommend this program, in fact, I have been sharing with friends and colleagues who are bewildered with their journey to health.

A holistic approach to weight loss

By Julie M., New York, NY, Verified Reviewer

I have been using Noom for nearly a month and a half and have lost a little over 10lbs of the 25 or so I would like to lose. More than this, Noom has shifted the way I approach weight loss and building a healthy lifestyle forever. The program focuses on behavior change and is rooted in psychology. It encourages you to think about how you want your lifestyle to change, explains some of the science behind how to get there, and then gives you practical tips and tricks to help you progress towards those goals in a sustainable manner. With the support of my coach and fellow Noomers, over a few short weeks I have examined and begun to work around some of the roadblocks that have hindered my success in the past. I am excited about the changes I’m making and would recommend Noom wholeheartedly.

I love Noom

By Cheryl K., Wyandotte, MI, Verified Reviewer

I absolutely love Noom! Since starting at the end of December, I’m down nearly 8 pounds! But that’s just a part of the picture. I love learning all the psychology and science behind losing weight, how to wait out a plateau, the support group with a great Group Coach and also my Goal Coach! If you are thinking about joining Noom, do it!

Very supportive and easy to do!

By Karyn F., Alberta, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I have been involved with many weight programs over the years. Noom uses the best of the programs to support you on a daily basis. You make slow simple changes that are easy to maintain. Don’t expect dramatic weight loss but expect to feel like you can live life while making healthy choices and consistent weight loss over time. I am grateful for the help.

Inspiring motivation

By E. G., Chicago, IL, Verified Reviewer

I started with Noom at the end of 2018. It wasn't even a New Year's resolution. I just liked what I heard and read about it. My coach is amazing. She understands me. The daily tasks, the readings and group posts are truly motivating and help me realize I'm not alone in my weight struggles. I love everything about it. I have lost weight, but I also have had slips. Noom understands that happens and it's not a failure. It keeps me going knowing I have that daily motivation to log my food and readings and my check-ins with my coach.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
