I have been using Noom for about six weeks. The program has made a huge difference in my behavior and self-talk, which is exactly what I needed to not just start losing weight, but to keep up the momentum. The program itself and the content it delivers is fantastic.
I love that there is a group component, but the way it is set up, it does not invite much interaction between group members. When the app directs the user into the group, the user finds herself in the main chat, and as a result, most of the posts there are unrelated one-liners that are unaccompanied by context. This is especially frustrating and confusing because, while we are all within the same week, I think, we are all on different days. When one person posts about counter-thoughts, for example, those who are a few days behind don't necessarily know what they're talking about. I would really love to see more features, including maybe automatic (and searchable) hashtags and pre-created threads where people are directed from corresponding tasks, so a discussion can happen rather than a declaration. I feel like the group, which is one of the things I was most looking forward to, is underutilized - I can say my piece, as can anyone else, but I don't really feel like anyone's listening.
Another feature I'd love to see is better navigation within the food logging interface. If I accidentally click on breakfast rather than lunch, I'd love a back button that I could press to bring me back to the meal selection screen instead of having to click done a bunch of times, then be dumped back into the home screen and click back on the food log. Seems like a silly thing but it's annoying and could benefit from a streamline.
Once again, I love the content and the program, and most parts of the app are awesome.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
