Breath of fresh air

I’ll preface by saying I’m on week six and down 19 lbs. I’m a 44-year-old male, 6’2” and just north of 300 lbs.

Considering I’ve tried many of the litany of health/weight loss apps out there, I am pleased to say Noom is a breath of fresh air. Their psychology approach is genius and I find myself reading about techniques that my subconscious already knew but couldn’t bring to words or application. Their food color system was exactly what I needed to tackle portion control without feeling like there were "bad" foods that I could never eat again. My history is such that I tend to go from 0 to 100mph whenever I decide to lose weight. Noom helped ease into it and establish healthy, sustainable habits.

In my opinion, the monthly fee is 100% worth it. And their platform is fantastic. If you’re a MyFitnessPal person, you may be slightly frustrated with their food logging process, if you get used to it and it really only takes a few seconds longer each day. My only wish would be that Noom and MyFitnessPal would merge and join forces. They’d be an unstoppable force in making healthier lives on this planet.

I like - good source of information

I do enjoy the program and the information/knowledge on it. Though when logging food I would love to get some macro information on it (like fat/carb/protein etc.). Because it's lacking, I log my meals on another app as well just to get the macro value.

Great program with some pitfalls

I've been on Nnoom for 6 weeks now. The concept is brilliant...science driven bits of advice and premises every day to read and implement. There is a weight tracker and a good tracker, every day, you talk to a personal coach once a week, and you are in a group with another coach for specifics. Food is grouped by color, which makes it easy to know what to eat and what not to eat.

There are some areas of improvement though.

1. Coming from Europe, the food database is not great. Understandable that you need users to fill in the gaps, but for once I'd like to see a US-based app to cater to audiences outside of the US.

2. The personal goals coach is great. The group, not so much. The one I am in doesn't have much discussion at all. Also, I think the group is too big, where most of them are silent. Perhaps this is something that can be improved, especially for the monthly fee that I'm paying.

3. I'd like to be able to access the daily "lessons," recipes, and information in another way than thru the app. I've asked this question, but no one has an answer.

4. Adding foods in the database, there is a small glitch where I can't seem to get a decimal point in! Also, there are foods that I have been logging that have mysteriously disappeared.

In spite of these things, I still do like the app, it is very positive and motivational, but making it even more personal would be helpful I think.

I enjoy Noom but it’s not a perfect app!

I enjoy the program, overall. I haven’t lost much weight but I’m hanging in there and trying my best every day. The app has some bugs that bug me. For example, I don’t keep normal hours; I rarely get up before noon and stay up until usually 4 am. So, my dinners are late. But I lose my "streak" if I don’t put in dinner until after midnight. I know it’s not a big deal but I’ve never missed a day putting in my calories and I want the app to reflect that! Also, my calorie bar, at the top, clears out after midnight so it’s difficult to know how many calories I have left for the day. If they were to fix some of these smaller issues, I would be a much happier customer.

Lovin’ it!

Noom is everything I was looking for in a weight loss program - and I’ve tried several! Noom addresses every aspect of the lifestyle changes required to lose weight and keep it off. I like the personal coach and love the group concept (it has members from several countries - fun!).

The thing I like most about Noom is the humorous presentation of some very serious science - Nerds rock!

I like Noom so much I have asked several people around me to join, and they like it too!

Love it

I joined Noom on a whim and to be honest I have not really lost any weight, my fault not theirs. I have been happy to learn a new way of eating and not put any more weight on. I am now eating in a much healthier way and I am armed with a truckload of tools and tricks to keep my weight stable and my blood sugars are stable for the first time in ages. I feel that each week I learn more and more and feel in control, but I also understand that I will have slips and I am coping with them. Great program, wish I had found it years ago.

Signed up for 14-day trial, don’t trust Noom that you won’t be charged

I found your daily program valuable, signed up for the 14-day trial on day 12 stated I didn’t want to continue and thanked my advisor and still got charged $59.99. But charged for a month for a service I did not use and notified and thanked you for the 14-day trial. Not trustworthy.

My life as a Noomer

When I first saw the commercials om TV about Noom, I have to say I was very skeptical, but I thought "why not, I've tried everything else." So I signed up and got hooked up with a terrific coach and group! They have been very supportive, I lost ounces not pounds, and one of the ladies told me to hang in there it would eventually "hit" the scale, and it did! I was so excited that I couldn't wait to tell my sister. She was almost as excited as I was. This has been quite a journey. I am eating healthier now and have finally gotten up on my feet to meet my goals, I even joined a health club, I want to keep this journey moving forward. I have hit peaks and valleys, no plateau (yet) and I am staying positive as I learn more and more every day. Thank you so much Noom!

Focused change

Until using the Noom app I’ve never been successful logging my food intake. This is one of my biggest wins so far. It’s teaching me to be focused while change comes slowly. It’s all very seamless and easy to use with lots of support. I think the group support could be more active, but that deals with others input, not the app and the psychology behind it. The articles are insightful and are brushing away years of myths and bad habits. My weight is dropping slowly as it should, but I’m also learning how my behaviors affect that change. All in all, I’m glad I joined Noom and have something to look forward to learning every day.

A blessing in my life

I have been tall and slender all of my life until I reached my 50s. To my surprise, it all changed. I got up one morning and couldn't find clothes that would fit me. I tried many things to lose the weight to no avail. Years have passed and my weight ballooned. Recently, I was watching television and saw an advertisement for Noom. I joined the Noom family the next day and am super glad I did.

I must admit I was completely lost in the computer program for the first couple of weeks, and still don't have a good understanding of it. Although I worked many years in the hospitality industry, I am now enjoying retirement, and still trying to lose weight. Understanding the computer program was the only confusion I encountered.

Noom is the only program of its kind that I have seen. IT WORKS! I was BLOWN AWAY when I started learning about "how" the body interprets and uses the food in your belly. I was understanding how to lose weight.

I liked that each subject was interactively taught separately. I felt like we were having a conversation. What a novel idea!

Noom is the perfect teaching plan for me. It always keeps my attention, and when each subject ended I was excited for the next!

I will have lost at least 30 pounds when I complete the program.
