It could be better

This is not as personalized as I was led to believe. Coach in group chat just puts out blanket statements/questions. My goal coach is the same. (This could be simple bot jobs, which would make the monthly fee we pay, obsolete.)

I feel like some of the foods in the color system do not make sense. I question the authenticity and if Noom is being sponsored by certain "diet" companies. Additionally, some foods listed on the websites are "green," but when put into the food log they are yellow. This is very frustrating. When you put in a food flag, its very vague and you can not give additional information.

I do appreciate the reading we do every day. I wish there was more logging of our personal goals, so that we could go back and look at ALL of the ones we have created over this course. As in one central location. Another idea for the app, I love the weight graph and would love to see that transferred to our food log. To see how we have done over time, with colors and points.

Great app for long term changes

This app is changing the way I approach food. It is not a quick fix, instead, it is about digging into your habits, breaking them down and changing. This is the good news. I've had challenges with the personal coaching, the food logging and technical issues with the app on the Android platform. But, frankly, the changes I'm beginning to notice in my approach to food far "outweigh" these issues.

It works

I have been on Noom for a little bit over a month now. I’ve lost about 11 pounds following their guidelines. Sometimes it is very difficult, but this is working. Between my group, the group leader and my coach I get a lot of reinforcement and encouragement. I signed up for a year and after I meet my goal, as the monthly price is so reasonable, I will definitely continue as a member.

Loving this!

I have been on the program and have lost almost 10 pounds in a little less than six weeks. That said, I am finding the impacts of the app and guided articles and cognitive training to have placed me on a much healthier track. Dieting is hard, but life change can be harder, what I didn't realize was how but it is needed. Especially in our society where immediate gratification is the norm and you can find most foods boxed and easy to prepare or unhealthy and quick food choices on every street corner.

Noom

I have been using Noom for about 5 weeks. Truthfully, I knew a lot of the theory before joining, but buckling down and putting it in practice, was positively overwhelming after literally years of self-neglect and failed trials of "quick fix" fads.

I counsel and instruct people with heart failure every day on healthy eating and progressive activity as crucial parts of restrengthening their hearts.

I need to be leading by example! Practicing what I preach, etc. I mean how serious are you gonna take advice from an overweight nurse?

Noom gave me a process that was unintimidating, motivational, convenient, and most importantly, sustainable. Portion control is nearly automatic now (still a work in progress). But the Psych tricks have really given me the tools.

More than expected!

I am just finishing up my 5th week with Noom. In the past I did sign up and then canceled during the trial period but decided to give it a try a year later. I am so thankful I did. Noom is different. It’s based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and its teachings can be applied to all areas of your life. I am an overall healthier person (mind, body, and soul) because of this app. Sure what brought me in was the desire to lose weight (I’ve lost 10 pounds so far), but it’s become so much more. This app, my coach and my team are teaching me balance. If you’re on the fence, trust me - get on it. It will change your life.

Forget the fad diets, learn to eat healthy

I have been battling my weight my whole adult life. This is the first time that a "plan" addresses the psychological, social, physical dynamics that affect our weight. This plan teaches you how to eat healthy including all food groups. Has a coach who checks in with weekly or more often if needed, has a support group with challenges while providing research on why our bodies respond the way the do. These blogs are key for motivation! Jump on board as if you keep with it, your sleep and energy will improve.

So far, so good

Started Noom on January 2nd and so far it has been a very different and positive experience. Initially, I was skeptical because I am not a social media person and definitely not a millennial, but I decided to be open-minded and give it a try. The information and the way it is delivered has been so spot on and their research on the "diet" cycle almost feels like they are in your head. When I feel like I am losing momentum, I get an inspiring message about how to stay focused. Also, I thought I knew a lot about nutrition and it turns out I was way off. Their color-coded system makes such common sense.

After month one on Noom, I am down 18 pounds. I still have a long way to go, but my motivation is still very much intact. Also, the price was very affordable. I got a New Year's special offer for 80% off, which equates to around $12 a month.

No real negatives but you do have to commit to spending at least 15 minutes a day reading and logging on the app. After a while, you get used to it. So - I would say that my experience has been very positive so far.

Great support system for changing your outlook of food

I have lost 7 pounds in 33 days. I have not felt hunger or anxious to eat at any time. There is a wonderful support system with your own personal coach and a group of others that are in your similar situation of wanting to change your outlook on food and how to approach it to your benefit and not your enemy. I still eat whatever I want, but, measure the portions and count calories. I do not feel guilty if I go over my count or if I decide to eat Oreo cookies. This program has taught me that there will be valleys and peaks and food is not the enemy. I do not find it hard to weigh myself every morning nor to log my food choices to the program. I highly recommend this program to help you change your mind drastically on how you look at food!
