I have been doing this program for five weeks, and so far, it's working well! There are areas to improve in, yes, but overall it's working pretty well.
The daily tasks are one of my favorite items. I'm not always in the mood for them, but I've found that they refresh my focus and motivation on a daily basis. They're quick, and get me thinking about my health. Also, I sometimes learn neat stuff while doing them! I'm a bit of a skeptic, so I actually fact-checked a couple of the informational tasks...and they were spot-on accurate.
It took me a few weeks to really get into the groove with my Goal Specialist. At first, I felt like she was just copying and pasting information into the chat. However, as we continued to talk, it's become more specific to me and I'm starting to really appreciate her.
I love the idea of the group, though it's a bit big and feels a little hard to build a community. It's starting to work, and I'm starting to build a little bit of rapport with a few members. The private messaging does need a lot of work, in terms of app mechanics.
I've done Weight Watchers before, and it has about the same ease of logging items that was in Weight Watchers. I like the breakdown analysis of green/yellow/red items (I found this system very confusing at the beginning, but now I have the hang of it and think that it is useful to think about how to lose weight and stay full).
I especially love the psychology aspect, where it breaks down habits. I have lost weight before - but it was because I replaced over-eating with over-exercising. Which was great - up until the point where I damaged my knees. Then I couldn't exercise, and since I never really fixed the underlying issues...I fell back into old habits and started gaining weight back. I have hope that looking at this will help me tackle the behaviors in general, without just replacing one bad behavior with another.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
