The program doesn’t modify based on weight

What I don’t like about Noom is the actual eating plan doesn’t change. They give you the plan and how many calories per red, yellow and green foods, but the total for all the calories is only 1,200 calories per day. That is very little for someone my weight, and the lowest amount anyone should eat per day based on doctor Recommendations. MyFitnessPal gives me 1,470 calories a day to eat based on me wanting to lose 2lbs per week. I’m not sure why Noom isn’t as customized then changes as you lose weight like most weight loss apps do. I also know that if I’m only eating 1,200 calories per day, no matter what the food type is, I’ll lose weight. So there isn’t much insentive to eat healthy.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Great program

Noom is a great program. You not only track how much and what you eat, you learn! You learn tricks and tips to succeed. You learn to think positively about your relationship with food. You have Noom coaches to encourage you on your journey. The first time I did the program I lost 10% of my body's weight. I stopped the program, and after six months the weight was coming back on, so I am doing it again and am back down to the weight I had lost before and am still going downwards to a healthier size. I've learned this isn't a quick fix diet but a lifestyle change.

Noom has helped me to change and grow in so many areas of my life - not just weight loss, although this has been a bonus. I have type 1 diabetes and the goal setting and examining the psychology behind my choices and behaviors has helped me manage this better and improved my mental health. I originally started the program with the goal of losing weight, and I have done, but this comes second to feeling better about myself and happier in all areas of my life.

Noom rocks

I am entering my sixth week with Noom. Let me say this...it is an education! There's science, psychology, and comradery. It's also a commitment. I spend a minimum of 30 minutes per morning going through my daily lessons. My scale hasn't gone down much, but that's on me...Get a good scale for your daily weigh-ins and be open to being schooled on your mind and body.

Being able to reach out to my coach when I need support is nice. Also sharing in my group is awesome because you get great feedback as they are going through the same issues. Getting down to the why’s of eating habits is extremely helpful and I have made better choices as a result.

Life changer

Noom is great for helping you understand that you need to change the way you think to lose weight. They teach you ways to help change the way you think about eating. They don't remove anything from your diet, but teach you how to include all your favorite items. It's great that you have the option for a support team that encourages you along the way. It's different from the all or nothing diets. It's nice to learn how to change the way you think to help lose weight.

I wish there would be an option to delay or pause the program. Overall it's ok, limitations with the actual functionality but I am sure there will be improvement moving forward. I wish that app would also allow to review notes and goal that you have made previously and ability to go back to that and be reminded of it.

Finally, an app that I look forward to using for staying on track

I have been using Noom for five weeks and am enjoying every day. From weighing in each morning, to tracking my steps and other fitness activities, to recording everything I eat and drink, I am fully accountable to myself for the first time in my life. I also am learning about some of the psychology behind the guidance I receive from Noom. I want to use Noom for the rest of my life...it is immensely helpful and stabilizing...no more weight gain!

Great product

I have to say that I was very skeptic about this program but I decided to try it anyway and I never regret it my decision. Noom is amazing for someone like me, it boosted my confidence, made me feel more energized and finally made me move from the couch. I get bored when I sit too much in front of the TV, I feel like I need to move around all the time now. I started exercising on my terms and I am loving the results. I went from size L to size M. I sleep better and sometimes I sleep less than 5 hours and feel like an energized bunny. I started cooking more and eating more mindfully. I keep my calorie intake and do all of the tasks that Noom tells me so. I talk about Noom at work and with my friends who are also signing in with you guys because they see results on me. I never thought that I will be still able to eat sweets and eating them 1/4. I didn't know that I have willpower and I will not slack on the tasks or get discouraged because of my weight not going down. I now understand that keeping off weight is not only that but feeling better about myself and sexier and more energetic, that's what is more important. I can't believe that I am eating more veggies and actually enjoying them, and fish, which I used to hate and now I am loving it. Plus portioning my meals is great, which I thought I would never be able to do. So to summarize, thank you Noom for creating this program for me!
