A new perspective

I have really enjoyed the Noom experience. I love that there is no restricted foods and the constant support. The focus on ALL aspects of living a healthy lifestyle is very encouraging. I have also been sharing with my children about green, yellow and red food. The only option I would add is a way to register your exercise and/or water consumption.

The missing component to my weight loss journey

I am 42 years old and am no stranger to another diet program, even having achieved lifetime status...and have gained every pound and then some thereafter. After going on a once in a lifetime vacation with family, I was horrified to see myself in pictures and angry that I hadn't taken better care of myself. I had no high hopes for Noom, but was determined to do something to get me back on track. While the philosophy generally of Noom had a similar feel to the other program I was on previously, the psychological and self-reflective component to the program has been incredibly helpful in not only helping me mind WHAT and HOW MUCH I eat, but WHY, forcing me to identify my emotional eating, my angry eating, social cues, and food insecurities. Once I started to see the correlation between my stress and desire to eat, I was able to redirect myself away from self-injurious (overeating) behaviors. I am 5 weeks, 3 days into the program and am down 10.9 pounds. I feel good, satiated, and positive about the journey. I still have 27.1 pounds to go, but I am confident that this time, my weight loss will stick.

Great program

I have been doing this for about a month. I have lost some weight, but the best thing it helps you with eating properly, exercising, recipes, daily tips, and coaches that help you be responsible. Coaches also help when you feel you have failed - give you the support you need. I would recommend this program. It has taught me to eat healthier and put more fruits/vegetables in my diet.

Noom 101

Noom does a great job of bringing together mind, body, and habits. They have a lot of recipes, educational information and forums to participate in. You have a weekly text from your coach on short term goal setting. So far it has worked with my lifestyle.

Awesome program

Let's be honest, we have all tried several different kinds of weight loss programs...I have tried just about all of them during my lifetime. Noom has been the best one for me so far. I love the fact that there are no "off limits" foods. You make your choices on what you want to eat based on your calorie budget. If you put a little exercise in, you get an increase in your calorie budget for that day. You decide whether you want to use it or not. I really love this program. The price is very low and affordable, and it is easy to follow.

Love Noom!

I have struggled with changing my eating habits for a while. Noom is the first program I have used that has worked for me and that I've kept up with for a month now! The personalized coaching helps keep me accountable, and the daily articles and activities are fun, informative, and keep me focused. I only intended to try the 2-week trial but now I am hooked and hope to use the tools from this program for the rest of my life!

Lots of learning but no weight lost

I have been on Noom for about five+ weeks. I wanted to lose about 10-12 lbs even though technically my BMI is normal. Noon advised me to keep my calories under 1200 per day. I’m already active, work out with weights two times a week and do yoga two times weekly.

What I like: I love their psychological approach and I’ve learned some really interesting data. I like the green-yellow-red food approach. I like engaging with the coach. I also like that they are honest about weight loss being a long term, iterative process.

What I don’t particularly like: I don’t find the online engagement with other Noomers very useful. I get that they are trying to replicate a Weight Watchers group approach virtually. But it’s not useful, and I just tolerate it.

Biggest surprise: Have not lost a single ounce. I don’t necessarily "blame" Noom for this, but if there continue to be no results, I’m probably going to bail and try Keto or Total30 that seem to be working for my friends.

Noom is life-changing!

I tried every diet known to humankind, and was still paying a monthly Weight Watchers fee when I found Noom. Or Noom found me, through ads, I should say. I’ve always hit a wall in dieting, yo-yo-ing between restriction and binging. Well, Noom addresses the psychological issues of dieting and mindset change every single day. It has been tremendous support for me that I sorely needed. Couldn’t be happier. I’ve been doing it for 5 weeks, have excellent results to show for it, and I have a healthy relationship to food, which really is the ultimate goal.

There are a lot of complaints about Noom but I’ve read all those reviews and from what I can tell, people mostly didn’t understand the fee structure, or didn’t understand that the program can be revised to lose weight faster or slower depending on your needs and metabolism. My mom is doing it now thanks to me and she thanks me every day for turning her on to it. Like I said, life-changing!

Good program with a few minor irritations

Overall I have found Noom to be a very helpful, effective program. The app makes meal logging easier than the ones I tried before. The daily lessons are excellent! I needed help with the psychological issues associated with weight problems, and Noom shines in that respect.

Noom does not synchronize up with my Samsung fitness watch, so I can’t log my daily steps. You can log how long a walk you take, but not your total steps per day. Since Noom sets daily step goals, that’s a problem. Noom does not seem to understand time zones. Every morning at 8 am it nags me to log my lunch. Annoying.

What an awesome tool!

OK, I really just needed a tracking tool to help me get my eating under control. Noom is so much more! The emotional support makes this invaluable and really ties everything together. Oh, and it's the most simple and uncomplicated food tracking system I've ever used. I can even put my own recipes into the database and calculate the nutritional value of the family meals we eat week in and week out! So awesome!
