Like the psych stuff but not the results

I like the psychology behind eating behavior and like reading the articles every morning. There is a little too much info packed into every day and it's hard to keep track of what psych trick I'm working on each day or week. Most are familiar but much is new, and I like to read for reinforcement.

I have been on the program for five weeks at 1200 calories a day working out four times a week and lost all of 3 pounds. I think they promise way too much and are not taking into count physiological issues for folks in their 40-50s.

This is perhaps more of a "learn to live with what you got" than any groundbreaking way to lose weight.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have been using Noom and have had a great experience. This program is very easy to use and someone is always there to support you and answer any questions you may have. There is also lots of support from people in your group that you are in. I recommend this program to anyone who is looking to lose weight and eat better. You will not be disappointed.

It works

I've been with Noom for five weeks, and I've lost 13 pounds. I find it extremely helpful to check in with Noom every morning. They provide psychological help, explanations about nutrition, goal setting, and connection to other Noomers.

The eating advice Noom gives is helpful, but I find that I do best when I pay attention to reducing carbohydrates. Their emphasis is more on calorie density and total calories. They do helpfully recommend eating fruits and vegetables.

Noom is a great way to learn about your habits, why you make the choices you do, and change your habits. I strongly recommend trying Noom. You learn a lot, and I mean A LOT. You also learn why you see results and why you may not see results. It’s also great that you can save the different articles you read so you can go back to them at any time. I also love working with my goal Specialist. This is an awesome program, and so much detail is put into it. The Noom team authentically wants to see you succeed and that’s an awesome feeling! I’m enjoying the program a lot.

This ain’t your momma’s diet app, but it could be

I love this app. LOVE IT. I have a very strange mantra of YOU ARE NOT THE BOSS OF ME, and that is why I don’t do well with personal trainers, bosses, etc. This app is on your team and is determined to make you see it. I’ve never logged a meal in my life, now I log every food that I eat, every day. I take my calorie count seriously now, I understand why I talk myself out of things and that skipping the gym WILL hurt and eating a box of doughnuts WILL hurt. I still like to look at doughnuts, but now I understand that I’m eating them for emotional reasons and not because I need all that sugar to survive. Noom’s coaches are so very helpful and encourage you at every step. My group is also very encouraging, and we like to share recipes. I feel like I am finally able to sustain this healthy lifestyle and not feel like it’s a burden. I tell everyone about it, even my therapist!

Noom review

I'm in my sixth week of Noom. It has been very educational. I like the pace. This program is for people who want lasting results and gradual weight loss. I have learned a lot about behavior; what triggers me to make poor choices. I'm 12 lbs down and I haven't felt deprived. My only criticism is the one on one check-ins should be more frequent. Especially for the first eight weeks.

I like it, but there are 2 things that would make it much better for me.

I like everything about Noom except:

#1) The size of the numbers on the app are SO TINY, that I need a magnifying glass to see how many calories I have consumed and/or have left in my day. There are people over 50 trying to read this app on a phone. This really needs to be fixed.

#2) I like the daily "lessons" - but the "homework" part is just too much to fiddle with. I like the individual coaching, but the group thing is of no interest to me.

I adore Noom! I have been learning how to lose weight in the real world. I can still splurge and lose weight. I have also learned tricks on how to help myself eat less and better. This is work but it works, and the weight is coming off!

Overall pretty good

I love all the helpful daily work sessions, weigh-ins and calorie logs. They have definitely hit the nail on the head and have spoken to me on many levels. The devil is, however, in the details. The personal coach is pretty much non-existent and the group posts are a little weird. I am not a millennial although I do enjoy social media, it just seems a bit strange to bar your soul to complete strangers. I will keep barreling ahead in hopes of making more progress.

Not great for non-working persons

The info shared is great. The latest research into the world of food, diet, mind, and weight is presented in an easily understood manner. I am 63, disabled and not in the workforce, so the application does not apply to me. The info comes at you fast with very little time to absorb it before more info heads your way. There is a process for saving the lessons - info so you can go back and reread. There really isn’t any emphasis in seeing you get it before you move on to more newer information. I think the overall process and program is great. I would love something slower and its application applicable to non-working persons.

Life changer

I have tried to control my eating habits and my weight for years. I only need to lose 20 pounds, so it can be difficult to stay on track after losing a few here and there. The difference with Noom is I am learning a new lifestyle. Noom offers excellent strategies and psych tricks that honestly work.
