I want to start by saying that I really liked HelloFresh. I found a coupon online for one week at 1/2 price. I got three meals for the price of two. The ingredients were good and the recipes too. However, I will not be returning to HelloFresh.
As I wanted to try other food services, I canceled my account on 3/31 but was billed on 4/2 for an additional box. After trying to sort this out for over an hour, I was told no refund would be given as I had already gotten an email on 3/31 that said it would be getting a box by 4/6. When I asked about this further and checked my email, all it says is:
"Your Classic Box (Classic - 3 meals per week for 2 people) subscription has been cancelled, and your last delivery date is confirmed as Apr 6, 2018. We'll still be in pursuit of deliciousness at its finest, so you know you're always welcome back if you change your mind (fingers crossed)."
As I had not received my first box (the one I actually ordered), I assumed this meant that my box would deliver by 4/6. I know it can take some time to ship things, so I didn't question it. But then I was charged $60 on 4/2 (which I did not see until 4/6) by HelloFresh. As you can imagine, I assumed there was an error. So, I contacted them.
After I was repeatedly told I was in the wrong for not knowing they decided to send me a second box after my cancellation, I was told there would be no refund. Then the person I was chatting with told me to have a "blessed day" and ended our chat.
So, in short, HelloFresh has good food and recipes (though I found that they took longer than the card said, but that was probably just me), but canceling your subscription does not cancel everything. I would suggest you call them to be sure everything is canceled.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
