Awful

Never use this company. I placed an order with them and it has been almost a month and a half with still no package delivered. They say that it has been shipped but international delivery is slow. I have ordered things overseas before and never had such a problem. They take a week to answer any customer service emails and the only option they have given to help for the delay is a credit for their company. (I will never use them again ever, so pointless.) Do not use them, they are awful.

Dreadful, avoid.

I ordered a tasting pack from Groupon and it took two months to arrive after many false promises of shipping, claims that I haven't entered my address (really?), and just awful "like it or lump it" service. The whiskies are fine and beautifully presented in the presentation case in nice reusable bottles. However, it's just a shame they can't get the absolute basics, like shipping right.

I was genuinely looking for a whisky subscription service. I'll be avoiding Flaviar for sure, and I'd recommend you do the same.

Terrible service cannot meet demands

Ordered a whiskey and rum tasting set via Groupon on 7th of Dec giving plenty of time for Christmas delivery. After two weeks received email with rubbish looking certificate to use incase my order didn't arrive. As they said partially busy.

Sent three emails did eventually get replies saying should be on way within 7-10 days. One arrived today nearly a month late and still waiting on other. Do not use them if want something promptly. Frustrating they allowed to use Groupon as promo and cannot meet demands of customers.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

No cancelation, no response

Ordered a taster pack as a stocking filler. It was in association with Groupon so very reasonably priced, and came with a 10 credit note. I was so impressed I ordered another taster pack but failed to spot the point on the order form where the voucher code is applied so was charged full price. My mistake. Contacted Flaviar immediately to ask for the order to be canceled. My five messages (to date) have been ignored and the pack has been dispatched anyway, six days after I first requested it canceled. Now requesting a refund. Disappointed.

Failed to deliver

Ordered a tasting pack via Groupon for my son for Christmas two weeks before Christmas. By the 21st December they must have realized that they couldn't meet their commitments and sent a naff PDF Christmas Card to give him in lieu of the present arriving.

Now the 6th January and no sign of the tasting pack.

E-mailed them and they said one of their "Concierges" would contact me. No one ever did and they don't have a telephone number you can contact them on.

The worst experience

I can only echo the sentiments in the previous reviews. This company is a total scam.

I bought a Gilt offer for the Whiskey tasting set and received an order confirmation on Nov 29 stating it would arrive in 12-18 days. On Dec 11 I got an email that it was shipped and would arrive in 7-10 days. (The initial offer claimed that all orders put in before Dec 7 would arrive in time for Christmas).

Today is Dec 30 and I still have not received anything.

The worst of all is that they won't reply to any attempts to get in touch. I sent two Facebook private messages, one tweet, two comments and three emails - no response at all.

Escalated this now to the awesome Gilt customer service team and hope they can help me.

I would highly recommend to look for more honorable services and don't order at Flaviar. There are multiple others and shabby companies like this one won't stay in business very long anyway.

Worst customer service ever

Ordered a bottle over two weeks ago, never heard since. Charge went through right away. I tried contacting on Facebook even, and received a message that it would "ship soon" and I would receive an email when it does. This was a Christmas gift for my fiancé. Maybe I'll get it in time for his birthday, in June.

Awful - avoid at all costs

Over two months since my purchase, customer service will no reply to emails and no shipping details given. I'm really disappointed with the whole experience. I would recommend that you avoid this website at all costs. There are loads of reputable and dedicated whisky sites out there and this is not one of them unfortunately.

Hmm, I think Columbus would've gotten me my booze quicker.

Look, the little five whiskey sampler came relatively quickly within a week or two. But the shipment of a single bottle, is something I'm still waiting on. It's a week short of a month, now. And I think they shipped it earlier this week with a 7 to 10 day shipment time. So I'll get it after a month, we're talking 1800's shipping speeds. And yes, the same tracking options from that era, as well.

The good news? If I want a finely aged whiskey, I can just order a step lower. No need to worry about 15 year old scotch or older, just get a 12-year, by the time you receive it.

Be Patient

After 3 weeks with not-so-much as a confirmation email, I got a little nervous. Flaviar and I exchanged some pleasant emails. Still, there was never any tracking number or receipt of any kind. I discovered why it took so long. They ship from Slovenia via snail mail. I saved $30 on my bottle of Scotch, so it was worth it to me. My father bought 8 bottles and got his package a week before I got my single bottle. Be patient. It will come.

Great customer service, good selection, and reasonable prices

I have been ordering my husband's birthday, Christmas, anniversary, Father's Day, etc. gifts from Flaviar for about 2 years now. It's an easy gift, not requiring much thought, and he always loves what I pick out.

Unlike a number of the reviews on this website, I have had no problems with my orders arriving on time. In fact, they have often arrived earlier than expected, like this year's Father's Day gift that came 2 weeks early. It should be noted that the bottles are coming from overseas so one should expect 2-3 weeks for delivery (in a week). If you want quicker delivery, then you need to pay for it. I always make sure I order well enough in advance that I don't need to worry. Plus, their shipping costs are about 25% that of other companies, which makes it even more affordable.

The one time I did have an issue with an order, it was when trying to use a coupon code and Flaviar's customer service was very helpful when trying to fix the problem, even giving me a credit for my next purchase.

All in all, I would recommend Flaviar to a friend and have on quite a few occasions. :)
