Not recommended.

By George , Deleon Springs, FL

Overall I found the site rather simplistic in features, user interface and graphics. While catering to rural singles there are lots of city folks and people that can’t find a mate on the other single sites. Remember that when contacting somebody you should only consider emailing someone that is a paid member or else you are wasting your time.

One experience I had recently was when a lady sent me a flirt message that read: “I will write if you will!” I sent the same flirt back. I should have waited because after I paid $21.95 for a one month full membership and I never heard back from her. I sent her a nice intro email with no response. Of course people can change their minds but I wondered if it was false traffic to get me to sign up. I’ve uncovered false flirt messages and user views on other online dating web sites.

For people who claim they were defrauded, remember that if you pay for one month of membership, it’s not over in a month. They will keep billing you every month at $21.95. You have to go to 'Manage Subscription' to turn it off. You are basically committed to pay the higher rate each month and this is not made clear.

Will not use this site again in the future.

Met My Husband!

By Tracy Goodson ,

FarmersOnly is a great site! I was weary about Internet dating at first, but after some encouragement from a close friend, I decided to give it a try. Within minutes of setting up my account, I was connected with several matches. The night I set up my account is the night I was connected with my now husband. He clicked on my profile, so I went and viewed his. Then we exchanged our first messages. I loved that FarmersOnly was simple. It was easy to set up, easy to use and I was instantly connected to country/farm guys. My husband and I messaged back and forth for several weeks on the site. I just accessed the site on my phone, he used the text feature the site offers. After a couple weeks, we decided to exchange numbers and talk offline.

At this point I decided to cancel my membership. It was simple. I was never charged any extra fees. No extra charges were made. My husband canceled his account too. He never experienced any difficulties either. It was great! We are both extremely pleased with our FarmersOnly experience.

We owe FarmersOnly for bringing us together. We've been happily married for a month now and have encouraged friends and family members to give it a shot as well.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Farmers Only Stingy Tactics

By Katherine , Wausau, WI

I went on FarmersOnly because I am a country gal. I found that many of the men I met on FarmersOnly were more down to earth than other dating sites. After a while of dating, I let my subscription expire, because I had already reviewed many profiles and was going to be busy for a couple of months and wouldn't have time to date. Not having time is exactly why farmers join this site, to meet others, because they don't always have time throughout the year and other farmers understand that. I was waiting for a good profile to come along so I could reinstate my membership when my free time came along. FarmersOnly then made it a policy to cut off non premium members from even viewing others' profiles, unless they became a premium member. So, where is the incentive to join when I can't even read people's profiles? When I tried to just search, they needed an email, which then they prompted to open back up my account, but then that wouldn't allow me to look at profiles still. I tried clicking on the "contact us" link, but came to an error 404 page because apparently you can't contact them if you're not a member either. Huh?. I have better things to do than play with stingy dating site tactics. Plain and simple, dating sites should allow even their non members to view profiles, as incentive to join. I had enough of this crap, back to the other dating sites it is. Maybe I would have recommended it at one point, but not anymore, since they became hard to work with.

Technical assistance is very poor

By Bill , Richmond, VA

If you have a problem, technical assistance will hardly ever address you and your issue. If fixed at all, it takes a very long time.

Would not recommend.

By Guy F Bartlett , Florida

I am convinced that they hire "teasers". I received an email from the perfect mate just seconds after I submitted my credit card info. Since then, I have been in communication with a person who I can tell from their style of writing, grammar, and word choice, are actually two different people. They appear to work in shifts, one emails from about 10:00 pm to about 9:00 am. Then the idiot's evil twin takes over. The night shift person is always apologizing for things that the day shift person said. This person claims to be from TN but the emails come from a domain in Mountain View, CA. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Be wary.

Bad Customer Service

By Tyler ,

Well, I enjoyed the site as a Standard Member up until I logged back in about a week ago. Really impossible to accomplish anything as a Standard Member.

Okay, well, I think I found someone I'd like to talk to, so I may as well pay for a month long Premium Membership. No way I'm paying by credit card, so I got a prepaid card to pay by phone since I would need to use two of them. Apparently now, once you call, you find out you can no longer pay by phone. Go figure! Why?

Numerous calls and emails this past week have been delivered, but I have yet to get a response. Of course I can't pay by phone since there is nobody on the other end of the line! I'll also mention that the number of grammatical errors on their FAQs page is ridiculous. I'm still waiting to find out what a "Platinum Membership" is, as found in the Gold Member section of the FAQs.

Anyway, what do I know. I'm going to keep trying, as I'm actually on there to date, but then again, that's probably just the site pulling me into their trap.

Great experience

I met the love of my life here. It was like looking through a catalog and picking the perfect lady! Yes, you have to sort through a few people but if you're persistent, you'll find the one.

I suggest you don't sign up.

By Denise Harris , Woodland park, CO

If you want to cancel your subscription you better do it at least a month ahead of time and then make sure it gets done or they will keep taking your money and will not reimburse it. Better yet, don't sign up.
