I have this as a gift and know that the pans are really misleading and do not last long. I suggest you pass this word on.
I did attempt to use the help service to get my pan replaced or fixed, but they never even attempted to help. They only suggested we season the pan as you will read below.
Copper Chef
[19:40] TonyB: My pan is scartched and no longer can use without oil
[19:40] Thank you for visiting chat! We will be with you shortly.
[19:48] Marielle: May I know if you seasoned your pan before cooking , please?
[19:48] TonyB: I only cooked sausage and eggs? You mean use oil?
[19:49] TonyB: this is the circle pan.
[19:49] TonyB: the other sqaure pan is great.
[19:49] Marielle: Seasoning your pan will help extend the life of your nonstick pans.
[19:49] TonyB: what is seasoning?
[19:50] Marielle: We have two methods of seasoning the pan. You need to put oil on your pan and make sure that the entire inner pot is covered with oil then heat it for about 5-10 minutes in a medium heat repeat process for 2-3 times and wipe the pan with to remove the excess oil you can also use your oven to season your pan put oil on your pan and heat it for about 300°F for an hour then wipe the excess oil.
[19:50] TonyB: oh ok .
[19:51] TonyB: however this pan has scratches and it is getting worse but I will use that method now .
[19:51] TonyB: is there a way to get this pan fixed?
[19:51] Marielle: When cooking please try to pre-heat the pan for at least 3-4 minutes using low to medium heat settings to avoid the issue that you have encountered.
[19:51] TonyB: i always do that
[19:51] TonyB: we never cook on a cold pan
[19:52] Marielle: The scratch might be caused of the too much heat from the burner. Copper Chef is heat resistant, but has a limit. Try to reduce the amount of the heat if you are using Copper Chef in your burner for more that an hour. However, the scratch on the bottom of the pan will not affect the non-stick feature
[19:53] TonyB: I use medium on the burner and only about 20 mins tops on the cooking. I thinking maybe not seasoning the pan did it
[19:54] TonyB: i do use this pan alot too
[20:00] Marielle: As with all non-stick cookware, we recommend using non-metallic, plastic or silicone cooking utensils.
[20:03] TonyB: I also noticed the pan is raising in the middle?
[20:04] TonyB: so the non-stick is not true you have to use oils
[20:13] Marielle: We have recipes online that needs oil or butter, however, we encourage and we recommend to minimize the usage of oil since the Copper Chef pan has a cerami-tech non-stick coating, it cooks without butter, oils&chemicels, OTFE and PFOA free.
[20:13] Marielle: Is there anything else I can assist you with?
Thank you for chatting with us. Have a great Day!
Notice the long no response after the question, and then they decided to just hang up! I offered them to contact me in an email as well, with NO luck.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
