Absolute piece of junk.
I received a Copper Chef square pan for Christmas 2016 from my niece and nephew. They know I'm an avid chef and love cooking for family and friends. I have commercial kitchen quality cookware and utensils in my home but gave the Copper Chef pan an honest try.
The Copper Chef worked wonderfully for omelets and scrambled eggs, and was non-stick, and at first, I was pleasantly surprised because it was very thin and light and made of thin gauge material. The fry basket and steamer set up is a joke. It is cheap Chinese junk that is a testament to shoddy Chinese workmanship and quality control (keep in mind; I have only used it approx ten times for eggs since Christmas 2016).
Within one month and approx ten uses, it began to stick. Today I tried it for the last time and scrambled six eggs with Romano cheese and butter, and it stuck like crazy. I have never used it over medium heat on a gas range.
Today, I had to soak the pan with warm water and use a rubber spatula to scrape the egg and Romano off before I hand washed it with a soft cotton cloth and Dawn soap. I'm very particular about my things and take very good care of my cookware and utensils. It still looks "out of the box brand new."
I would return it, but don't want to make my niece and nephew feel bad. Instead, I'm going to post this to as many review sites as possible, so that others won't get shafted by this deceptive commercial. I may make a YouTube video as well. I wish I could post pictures of the pan with eggs stuck to it.
Eggs stick even with butter and olive oil. I wouldn't even try to make sunny side up eggs. It's laughable that the commercial shows eggs sliding out without oil. A cheap supermarket fry pan works ten times better, and my well seasoned Lodge cast iron skillet is nonstick and over 20 years old.
I feel so bad that my family wasted money on this worthless pan as a gift for me. I don't have the heart to tell them how bad it is. I'm telling you from the bottom of my heart, do NOT waste your money on this pan!
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
