Doesn't work with induction range

By Don Buelke, Montana, Verified Reviewer

We cook on an induction range. The 9" square pan forms a dome as the induction plate heats, and everything slides to the periphery; bacon, eggs, whatever, unless the pan is completely full. Does not have enough mass to hold and conduct heat and takes much longer to cook and at moderately higher temperature. Returning it.

Horrible!

By Becky Haws, Lancaster, PA, Verified Reviewer

I bought a small Copper Chef pan in a department store because I had seen the TV infomercials. I wanted it for omelets because my family makes them every day. I was hoping for a non-stick pan. IT IS NOT! This pan is SO much worse than any other pan I own! EVERYTHING sticks to it. It is terrible!

Disappointing

By Larry Carhartt, California, Verified Reviewer

I have owned and used Copper Chef pans for 40 years (the originals that is). This new stuff they are pumping out works great when first received, but soon become a sticky, scratched up mess. I followed all the instructions. I never used a metal utensil, and these things stick like I have never seen before. They are the worst. You're crazy if you buy these.

I have a feeling that someone took over the company and decided to "cash in" on the high-quality Copper Chef name by putting out an inferior product.

Copper Chef pans

By Joyce Gold, Nashville, TN, Verified Reviewer

I've bought almost every pan they sell. The first couple months I loved the skillets. I hand washed and dried them and hung them. Now I can't even use them. Everything sticks no matter how much oil. They are garbage. The only ones that seem to be holding up are the baking sheet and muffin pans. They are heavier and seem to be a little better quality.

I have to question if any of these positive reviews are for real. These are absolute garbage and deserve zero stars.

Not good for the long haul

By Judith A Condit, Ohio, Verified Reviewer

The pan worked well for about 3-4 months. It slowly deteriorated and eight months into use, we can't get the stains out no matter what we do. I used my fingernail today to pry off egg which an abrasive scrubber could not remove. Interestingly, the copper covering still remains, but black grease stains (inside and out) are part of the finish. Obviously, this no longer functions as a non-stick pan, and we are going to throw it out.

Pans stick after several uses

By Patricia Van Horne, Park Rapids, MN, Verified Reviewer

I ordered the pans by phone. I loved these pans at first. However, food has been sticking to the bottom, and I must soak them prior to washing. I did not use spray oils (i.e., Pam) as directed, and followed directions for use and care. Food still sticks to the pans even after a light coating of oil or butter. I read on the "warranty" that you must package and pay for postage, plus a $14.99 check or money order along with the date of purchase and receipt and they will let you know if Tristar elects to refund/replace the item.

I won't order these again.

The pan sucks

By Richard Sobocinski, Michigan, Verified Reviewer

The pan worked great when I first bought it. After many uses the pan started to stick. So I called Copper Chef headquarters and they told me to put oil or butter in the pan, so I did. This pan is a short-term nonstick pan, and after months you will see what I'm talking about. Copper Chef sucks.

It is NOT non-stick!

By Cynthia Rey, California, Verified Reviewer

My friends all tell me I need new pans because I'm supposedly eating bad chemicals every time I use them. I saw these on TV one night and thought, "Wow, two for one?" I decided to go for it and got sucked into getting the skillets as well.

I was so excited when I received them. They were so pretty! But the best thing was that I didn't have to use any more butter, spray or oil. I just tried them for the first time and cracked two eggs into the pan. Only problem: I wasn't able to turn them over. They stuck completely! It was a mess. I had to throw them away because there was hardly any egg left. I thought, "this can't be." So I got my other pan and tried it again. I threw two eggs in and got the exact same results.

I'm so mad. The first time I use them and I can't even make eggs. I spent $130 and can't fry an egg? I haven't tried to make anything else, but I'm so not looking forward to it. If everything else sticks, I'm going to be totally depressed that I wasted good money that I work really hard for. Why can't people just be honest about their products? What is wrong with the world?

Durability

By Myrna Morris, Washington, Verified Reviewer

Hi there. I purchased the Copper Chef fry pan after watching the advertisements. Who wouldn't want a pan that doesn't stick? I believe that I must have gotten a lemon, because not only does everything stick, but it also burns immediately. I lost the receipt so feel a little burnt myself. I hope you all have better luck with yours.

I want to love this pan, but...

By Joe McIlvaine, Florida, Verified Reviewer

My girlfriend gave the 9.5" pan as a gift. I was great in the beginning, but as others have stated, it loses it's non-stick properties very fast.

I treated my pan with kid gloves, followed all the instructions, hand washed and dried the pan, even stored it away from my other cookware to prevent scratching. The bottom line is, the non-stick properties failed after about a dozen uses, and the bottom is all scratched up.

I want to love this pan, but I can only like it. I still use it, and while food does stick sometimes, it still cleans up pretty easy. It's not a great pan, but it is not bad either. I may still purchase the XL six or seven piece set that includes an induction coo top and a couple of accessories. For three payments of $33 + $20 P&H, it is a pretty good deal. I am a full-time RV'er and cook every day. My lot rent includes electric, so over time, this will pay for itself in propane savings.

I would recommend this pan, but keep in mind, it is not perfect. Food will start to stick after a few uses, but if you are not careless, it cleans up pretty easily.

Not working as advertised

By Ron P, Mentor, OH, Verified Reviewer

I used it for a few weeks and did everything as directed. Food is sticking, and when I contacted customer service they told me to cook on medium heat only and use oil. WHAT? They advertise to never use oil and never mentioned temp? They told me they recognize an issue with the product and to season with oil before use, and they are putting out new literature on this (LOL). After I told them I needed to talk more, they disconnected me. Do not buy this product!
