Don't sear steak

By Martin R Scarborough, Arizona, Verified Reviewer

My Copper Chef pans worked great until I seared steak in them. After that, they stick no matter what I cook in them. The infomercial and the TV spot and the magazine articles all say that it is safe to sear steak in these pans. Yet I seared steak in the frying pan, and it ruined it. I seared steak in the chef's pan, and it ruined it.

Good for a couple of months

By Regina Anderson, Texas, Verified Reviewer

I loved it for a couple of months, now even bacon sticks. Don't waste your money. I hand washed it every time I used it with gentle care. I've had cheap Teflon pans be non-stick longer than this pan was.

Love it but...

By Norma Wright, Arizona, Verified Reviewer

I use my big square Copper Chef pan a lot. The only problem I have is with the handle. I usually fry/bake my chicken, and when I take it from the oven to the stove top, I forget that the handle gets hot and I have burned my hand several times.

I have purchased the large and small skillets as well, and I just LOVE them.

When I fry/bake my chicken I use chicken breast dipped in egg/milk then dredged in seasoned flour. I use a small amount of oil and lightly browned the chicken, then I put it in the oven at 325° until it is beautifully browned. Then I remove it from the oven, place the chicken on a serving dish, add my flour to the remaining oil and make some lovely gravy.

Cleanup is a snap even if left overnight.

Very disappointed

By Christa Malcom, Titusville, FL, Verified Reviewer

I purchased this product in conjunction with the air fryer as advertised on TV. My daughter has the copper pans and says they are great, so I purchased the two pans advertised. The 9.5 pan had a small scratch in the corner which felt ridged to my touch. I used it anyway, and now after five uses the pan is sticking and discoloring.

I called customer service and they said it was no problem and to send the pan back at MY expense, and they will ship another to me at MY expense. That is not satisfactory as the shipping will make the cost of the pans twice what I paid originally.

Overall product, according to my daughter, is great, but as for me, customer service is lacking if you receive a defective product. I would not order again. I might buy from a vendor where I can return a defective product easily.

Copper Chef pans

By Helen, Easton, PA, Verified Reviewer

The pan is not nonstick. It's very hard to clean once something is burnt on it. It's not scratch resistant, and the handles are so long that I can only put one pot on one end of this stovetop and one pot at the other because the handle hangs over. Worst waste of money.

Not positive

By Nikki Whitworth, Oxford, MS, Verified Reviewer

I do like the copper cookware. When first bought it, it was phenomenal. I have followed all the directions in the fold-up pamphlet. Nine months later everything sticks. Even bacon (seriously, bacon?). Horrible. I have gone back to original stainless cookware that is 28 years in use.

Copper Chef XL

By Robert Chissom, Owensboro, KY, Verified Reviewer

I bought the Copper Chef XL. I loved it for the first three months, then everything you put in the pan would slide to the sides and corners. Nothing will stay in the center of the pan. Sides and corners do not seem to be the same temperature as the center, so judging cooking is difficult. Obviously, the pan has become warped. Of course, for only $20.00 I can send it back and they will make a determination if they will replace it. I don't think so.

Copper Chef

By Richard Poelstra, Winston, OR, Verified Reviewer

I bought the 10-inch fry pan, and it worked great for a couple of months. Then it started sticking a little more each use, and slowly harder to clean. After three months of use, it is junk and worthless as a nonstick pan. I have other brands that still work better after 1-2 years of use. And no one including the MFG will give any warranty after 30 days. The MFG of these pans should be outlawed from business.

Too good to be true

By Michael Reed, Delaware, Verified Reviewer

Was this pan the answer? Finally, an easy to clean pan that fries food evenly that heats up quickly? Don't get your hopes up; if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

This pan has a nonstick surface, that much is true, but my pan warped on its second use following one of the recipes that came with the pan. The pan doesn't sit flat on my stove anymore, which makes it terrible for even frying of anything. The pan is now just used for soups and boiling things, pretty much useless for anything else.

I tried to return it, but Copper Chef wanted me to not only pay for the return but pay them some kind of fee on top of the shipping cost. Don't waste your money on this pan or these people.

Was very pleased

By Sharon, Oklahoma, Verified Reviewer

I was very pleased with the cookware when I first got it. After four or so months I became very unhappy. Things started sticking, so I started using cooking spray or oils. After another month things stuck even with the coatings I used.

I emailed the company about all of this, and their very bright idea was for me to soak the pans after use. Well, duh! I wanted their explication as to why the cookware was failing and all they could say was soak it. Anyway, I never used any kind of metal or abrasives on the pans.

So buyer beware; they are awesome for a few months, and then they're worthless.

Lasted one month

By Robert Strayer, York, PA, Verified Reviewer

It was good for one month. Now, everything sticks, even bacon! I wish I could get my money back. It seems like the coating wore off. I have to scrub after making bacon and eggs. Might as well throw the pan out. This is the absolute truth.
