I am probably one of the first 100 people to get this Clear TV converter box. It only cost me about $7.50 (I had that coupon, 1 per house hold). So I called my mom asked her to follow the procedure. We have 2 now (she has cable) while I have satellite where I live.
We live in a small city and there are no buildings around us. Our city is not even mentioned on the weather during the news or during a storm, and boy do we get them out here. So there is no interference with buildings ruining the outside antenna other than just the wind, so channels will go out. I have to go outside a adjust the antenna.
Before I purchased the Clear TV antenna, I called and asked them whether it work with the outside antenna with the converter box (we have a Sylvania 3 in one Television) but it is not have the digital tuner built in. The guy told me exactly what to do and I wrote everything down. He said yes it will work. Today I received the antenna in the mail. I called them and asked them how to install it and let him know about the fact that we have to rely on a converter box. He asked me how many channels do I currently get with the converted box. I told him about 22-35 channels, and that we don't watch all of them due to some of them being in Spanish.. So it will drop down to 20-29. So I hooked the new antenna up and did everything I was supposed to do and all I got was snow. Well the first thing he said was that it not hooked up right. Yes it is.
I told Adam (the agent) that I am going to re-hook the converter box the original way. Now the channels are back to where they were using the original converter box with this Clear TV Antenna. Long story short, I realized this antenna served no purpose for me and I wanted my money back. They are the ones that said it will work with the box. Now I believe it's a stupid little gadget. Oh, and yes, I even tried it in the bedroom.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
