Horrible experience

Easily the WORST experience of my life. Pictures and info on the website looked great. I get the vehicle on 12/3 and works fine on day one. Day two, the convertible is stuck in the down position. In south Florida of all places. Of course, it begins to rain. Took my car to Fiat Dealer on 12/5. Call on 12/6, they say they can’t even look at it until 12/9. Here I am almost a week later with no vehicle. I put in to have it swapped on 12/12. The delivery guy calls to tell me on 12/12 (the DAY of delivery, past the delivery time) he does not feel good dropping off a car in this position. It’s missing an armrest, the service engine light is on, and there’s no power cord. Exactly how does this company have almost 5 stars.

The delivery guy rejects the vehicle. I call Carvana furious. One person can’t tell what’s going on and why or where, nothing. A second defective vehicle that supposedly went under a 150-point inspection. 150 points but you completely miss a convertible top that has obviously been "GLUED" numerous times and ready to break any minute. Which in fact it did. I’ve been on hold for a solid 15 minutes and have yet to get a response on exactly what is happening. They have taken zero responsibility for me having to endure this. No way to work or even to get groceries. Again, it’s raining and there’s no way to protect the car. It’s getting ruined.

I have nothing nothing nothing nice to say about this company. Buyer beware. It may seem like a smooth and easy process but it’s nothing of the sort. Saying this is the first time this has happened is no consolation. I’m missing out on job opportunities and doctor's appointments for what reason. They did NOT offer to get me a rental vehicle in the mean time. Just sit home and wait for them to do nothing. This entire experience has been traumatizing. Will update with final outcome although I’m sure it won’t be good or to my satisfaction.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Car buying experience

It was just as easy as the commercial says it is. I bought my Hyundai Tucson while sitting on my couch all relaxed. It was so easy I had to call to ask questions to make sure of what I was doing was actually buying me a car.

When the truck pulled up in front of my house I cried. I haven’t owned my own car in about 4 years and it just didn’t seem real, so I was very emotional about it. I had said I wanted a vehicle I can afford with no down payment preferably blue and something told me that day to look at Carvana so I did. The experience was awesome and I have told everyone I know about it. Thank you!

Best car buying experience ever!

I found my perfect car on the site, applied for credit and traded in my existing car all online. I ran into a couple of questions and they were always helpful and quick to answer no long wait times. Prior to my delivery, they had a sale taking $1K off all vehicles, I chatted online and they added the discount to my car even though the deal was already done! My car was delivered right on time and my driver was super sweet and it took about 20 minutes to finish everything up. The car performed perfectly during the 7-day test drive and they called on day 6 to verify it I wanted to keep it. I love my new car and I will never go to a dealership again! Carvana has gained a customer for life!

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

2017 Volvo XC-60 experience

This is the first time I have bought such a major item sight unseen - except for a few photographs.

Here are the cons first...

More photos are the first thing Carvana could improve upon. Most reputable car dealership websites have lots (2 dozen or more) photos of each car. Carvana needs to fix this.

Second, why the heck do you folks not like scanned documents - they have much better resolution than a darn cell phone pic. I submitted high-resolution scans of some of my documents only to have them rejected. Something against PDF scans?

Third, at delivery we noted that the car had been previously owned by a dog owner, more effort should have been taken to remove said dog hair. We took an hour with lint rollers to get the back end clean. There was also a tad bit of odor. The fact that a dog had occupied the vehicle should have been disclosed.

Forth, the vehicle was delivered with its TPMS system uncalibrated. We checked the tires before resetting the system and found that all 4 tires were VERY overinflated by 13 to 20 psi. MFG says tires should be 35 psi - as delivered the lowest tire was 48 psi. We reduce tire pressures to 35 psi and reset the system.

Pros...

The process was definitely easy and fast. I thoroughly enjoyed not having to go to a dealership.

The finance rate was competitive.

Vehicle flaws were disclosed on the website (except dog owner).

Love the fact that I don't have to go to Tag Agent.

In summary, my experience with Carvana was generally positive. I would recommend them to anyone who hates lying, bait and switch car dealerships (beware Ferguson in Norman, OK).

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Overall good process. The way the car was delivered was somewhat disappointing.

The overall purchasing process was easy and straightforward.

In the vehicle description some "imperfections" were listed.

Upon delivery of the car, we noticed that the car was not clean, had large stains on the driver and rear seat, and several paint chips.

After complaining, we got part of our cleaning/detailing cost reimbursed.

We decided not to go through the more complex repair process to go to a body shop and get the chips taken care of. Too much effort.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

New car purchase

I recently purchased a vehicle from Carvana. This was the most hassle-free experience I have encountered. Everything is done online. You don't even have to drive to pick it up. But I suggest that you experience the pick-up, it's very entertaining. I would suggest Carvana to anyone looking to purchase their next new or used vehicle.

Watch out Amazon

I am a Google guide so I'm used to doing some reviews, LOL. Anyway, I really enjoy my vehicle. A 2019 Nissan Altima SR. My daughter bought a Chevy Trax, she gave me a discount card for $500 off, and then I got an additional $1,000 off because of Black Friday. Much better than dealing with one of your local car dealerships.

I had a conversation with some of their fantastic representatives about maybe having a lottery and a Carvana helicopter delivering some of the vehicles that would be eligible by location and ordinances. I cannot think of one single person who would not want their vehicle delivered by helicopter. And, all of their friends would be there watching.

Also, it would be nice for an incentive, if a person recommends five people to Carvana and they all buy a vehicle, Carvana would make their next car payment. I guarantee you would have people out there actively promoting Carvana to take advantage of this perk.

I would be willing to bet, you would have some people responsible for 5 verified purchases every month, LOL, that's a lot of cars.

Lots of room for improvement

Our Carvana experience started on October 31st. We picked out a vehicle and agreed on a fair offer for my trade and got approved for the financing through Carvana and a delivery date of November 16th, everything went very smooth. On November 1st I noticed in a close up picture of the driver side of my car I see 3 pedals. So I call and find out their description of the vehicle was wrong, we wanted an automatic but actually the car was a standard. No problem, they tell us to cancel the order and pick out another vehicle. We did pick out another vehicle within an hour and got the same delivery date of November 16th. On the night of November 15th, we get a call from Carvana telling us that there is a title issue with the car and have to move the delivery to November 27th. We say fine, readjust our schedule, and wait 12 more days. In the meantime, I'm paying for insurance on a car that's still not in my possession.

So on November 26th, we get a call from our advocate telling us they can't deliver our car because their hauler is not NY DOT compliant. But they say "we see you have a trade, would you mind driving it to our hub and do the switch and paperwork there". So now they have taken away the main reason we bought this way, to see it come to our house. So we drive our trade there, fortunately, it was only a half-hour drive, and we do the deal there just like a traditional dealer.

We do believe we got a decent car at a good value and a good trade-in value but no better than the dealer I usually use. The biggest problem I see with this process is logistics. Getting the vehicle in a timely manner is most important and working quicker with NY DMV. I think from now on I'll go back and spend a few hours at my dealer and drive my car home and avoid waiting almost a month for my car. I'm sure as time goes on the process will get better. Thanks for reading.

Simple, fast, convenient, 100% satisfied

At first I was very hesitant and skeptical with the whole process; because you never know with buying items online if the product received is what you saw online. But after shopping around awhile I found a vehicle and when I started the process, I was amazed on the process, on which it went step by step. Showed myself what I needed/what was next, etc. And the Carvana rep was so helpful. So needless to say, I was extremely satisfied, and if your anything like me that has questions about details, you will not be disappointed. This has been the best experience.
