I’ve had a wonderful experience with BetterHelp since day one. They ask you questions about who you are and what you look for in a therapist so they can find someone who will make you feel comfortable.
My therapist, Sharon Jordan, is very empathetic. She listens without judgment and makes me feel like I’m heard. She holds me accountable for things I choose to do that may not be beneficial and homework is given. So, even though you don’t get to talk to your therapist every day, you’re still working on things between sessions.
Personally, I love the video chat option so I can see my therapist. I don’t do well with teachers or therapists when just talking over a phone call or text. So, if you need to see the person, that option is there for you.
They work with your schedule and let you pick the date and time of your session, which makes it very flexible for those who have kids, partners, family, or work obligations. I’m able to budget my cost for the therapy but I do realize it can be pricey for some. So, if you’re able to fit it into your budget I recommend it. I will say it’s quite a bit cheaper than other people I’ve seen in the past.
Overall it’s a wonderful app and it really helped me at my lowest point!
